Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe location was walkable to all trams and city locations. The room was spotless and very comfortable with a touch of luxury. The parking in the basement is also cheaper than the city locations. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Complimentary coffee at reception was a nice touch.

United StatesParking is a bit pricey but it’s necessary.
I love this property. It’s my preferred first choice every time I go to Portland. It never disappoints and the staff seems to genuinely like doing what they do which results in a rarely seen environment. Truly. And the price due to being a Genius level booking.com user doesn’t hurt.

United StatesThe only negative is the bedsheets felt cheep (they electrified and got stuck to the body).
Good location, nice staff, pleasant room (spacious), good price/quality ratio. For New Year we got some complimentary swag and drinks, it was a nice touch! A lot of restaurants around, everything walking distance. We also were lucky to get a parking spot in the garage, so it made our stay completely worry free (note - parking is not free, it’s paid, it’s very clear in the hotel description!)

United StatesThe hotel is starting to show its age a bit, and could use sprucing up in a few parts. The bathroom didn't stay closed, just needs some TLC really.

United StatesThe hotels cafe wasn't open as it was a Sunday night and Monday morning. The people in the room next to ours were loud but at least they stopped making noise by 11pm. Everything looks a bit worn but it also has alot of charachter.
Our room was spacious with a couch and a little kitchenette. We had lovely city views and were in walking distance to many cafes and a great bookstore. The bed was comfy and the shower was good. Nice to have a couch and the views. The price was great for what we got! To park your car you had to drive around the corner and go into a parking garage there. Once inside you could take an elevator into the hotel. Friendly and helpful staff!

United StatesNot the fault of the property but there was a horrible smell in the hallway. They think someone cooked fish. It was one of the worst things I’ve ever smelled! Lasted our entire stay.

United StatesThe only thing I would say I didn't like was the bathroom looked like it was starting to have mood on the walls, but we made sure to tell someone about that.
This place was wonderful. The hospitality was amazing. Best hotel I've stayed in for a while. I would definitely book again. The hotel was as close to a lot of clubs and restaurants. Very convenient. We were there for new years eve, so they made up our suite for that.

JapanOur only complaint was that there was a partially-eaten pie in the kitchenette refrigerator! Though it's easy to see how it could have been forgotten—it was on a top shelf at a hard-to-see angle—it made us a a bit concerned about what else was missed.
We checked in late, but had been upgraded to a nicer room for free. Sadly, we had to decline because we needed an ADA room, but the staff was still very kind & accommodating. And the room that we got was still gorgeous!

United StatesNothing. It was great.
We requested a quiet room and were very happy with 605. It was away from road noise & other guests. We were awoken at 7:30 a.m. by the staff accessing the utility/storage room next door though. It would’ve been nice to sleep a little later, but overall, it was one of the quietest rooms we’ve stayed in. Location was perfect for exploring downtown. We parked a few blocks away on Yamhill for just $14 a day & used the MAX for $5 a day. There are many things within walking distance too.

CanadaVery little parking that can’t be requested in advance. Requested to have sofa bed made up before we arrived for adult daughter staying with us and she had to go request blankets and pillows after check in as it wasn’t done. No daily housekeeping. Steep pet fee without any provisions for pets.
Super convenient. Easy to find. 2 short blocks from Powell’s books. Easy walk to transit. Lots of nearby restaurants.
