How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Upstairs room but I didn’t request ground floor when booking.
Karen was extremely kind and personally showed us to our room. She also let us check in a bit early. The room was very comfortable and lots of convenient outlets for electronics. Air worked well as did the ceiling fan. Nice clean well kept room. Good choice in this small town.

Everything was perfect :)
Very nice staff, great room with balcony towards the sea side (you could even spot the sea between the trees), very clean, the kitchen in our room was fully equipped.

Nothing. Everything was good :) definitely will stay there again and next time do direct booking to get the kamaaina discount.
Everything. Nice spot right in the middle of everything; can just walk to the store, etc etc. Room was very cozy and made us feel right at home. The two days just went by super fast though!

Service was outstanding! I needed to be near the hospital after my spouse was admitted following a serious injury. The staff were kind and accommodating. I’m extremely grateful for a safe comfortable place to rest each night. Highly recommend!

The location is good particularly because of the heavy traffic on the south and east sides of Kauai. Best of all was the staff who were exceptionally friendly, helpful and kind. The lack of a pool or hot tub on the property was a disappointment but we knew that before arriving. Many, many thanks to the staff especially Shannon, Pappy and Nicole.

Microwave was broken. However, once we told them about the issue they replaced later that same day!
Less busy side of Kauai, great food options within walking distance, cheap room pricing for Kauai, rooms are spacious and nice, rooms use a code so no key card is needed and you can't get locked out, overlooks a beautiful back yard with the ocean just in sight, friendly and understanding staff, we were the only people in the hotel for like 3 days.

ask to stay towards the back of the property if you can. The front gets the noise from the street and front desk. Not great soundproofing so bring earplugs.
Nice spot if you want to be on the southwest side of the island. Great starting place for Waimea Canyon and Koke’e Park and beaches. It is a rather sleepy town in the winter with only two places open for dinner within a ten minute drive. Room had everything I needed and was comfortable.

The only complaint I have is you can’t walk to the beach. Otherwise it’s perfect and great value
The location is perfect for exploring the west and south side of the island. Oskar the hotel manager is amazing as well. Accommodating and so easy to talk to and be around!

There is a picture of a pool… actually the pool is not the hotel pool but the community pool (which is super clean) in front of the street and its close during the weekend and after 4pm on week days.
Oskar was amazing ! He made sure everything was perfect :)

The room was spacious and VERY clean. Brand new HUGE flat screen TV- and the remotes were sanitized and in a bag. Outdoor balcony with tables and chairs was a bonus- watched the sun rise and could hear the ocean.

While the water is hot, if the showerheads were updated or water force increased, I would think this is a comfortable 3-4 star place :)

We planned on staying on the east side of the island and we needed to drive much more than we had anticipated. This was not the fault of the facility. It was close to several beaches and a few other sites of interest and walking distance to a great shave ice location.
The room was clean and good sized and the staff was very welcoming and accommodating.
