How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The outside looks kind of shabby. Carpet needs to be replaced in the room.

The floor in our room was damp and there was obvious water damage on the ceiling in various places. The air filters need to be cleaned because you can smell the mold and mildew in the ac units when you turn it on so overall the maintenance needs to be investigated. Instead of moving rooms after juggling all of our luggage to the third floor, we decided to open up a window and buy a few air fresheners/damprid from a nearby target. If you have upper respiratory issues, the heavy smoke smell that comes through the ventilation will bother you at times. The breakfast is grab and go but the booking.com website lists it as "hot breakfast" which it is most certainly not.
I appreciated the location being close to shopping as well as the short drive to the beach. Housekeeping and staff were pleasant and the gentleman at the front desk was kind to my children when they would stop in for cocoa.

Check in is upstarirs on 2nd floor; there is a delapidated old room downstairs now serving as a storage room of old furniture and miscellaneous materials facing the street. One can see all the garbage inside this room through its windows upon arrival. It looks very bad. This room creates a bad first impression of the motel to the arriving guests. They should at least cover the windows of this old storage room with drapes, and better yet, clean up this room.

Around 7:30 a.m. each morning, there was someone starting their car and revving the car engine hard and loud. I know it's not management's fault, but maybe have a notice regarding loud noise. Otherwise, I slept comfortably. The room had only one chair. It's not enough for four people.
The rooms were comfortable and the staff were very accommodating to our needs.

Parking spots were small and tarmac torn. Tolerable though raining.
The coffee was very good as was the venue and selection of food items. The folks working there were exceptional.

Use of laundry room, dryer no problem, washer ate $8.00, it showed on our credit card statement. Haven’t had an opportunity to request reimbursement. It did work on the third attempt. Electrical wall outlets plug-in worn out so plug kept falling out, tried “adjust” my plug but barely worked. Plug-in on night stand were designed for standard plug, would not accommodate a charging block for iPhone or iPad. No USB ports bedside.
Layout was different, front desk located on second floor away from front area. Not being familiar with the area and facilities, arriving in the evening, signage not lite up. Fortunately my wife saw the signage, mentioned to staff.

Not accepting cash and breakfast is not good don't expect too much out of it. The night staff the guy is kinda rushing and not accommodating it gives "GO AWAY" vibe. The day staff is nice and very pleasant.
The place Is clean and comfortable. A lot of parking space. Location is convenient. Very big room , with useful amenities.

This Howard Johnsons is getting seedy. Needs some thorough maintenance upgrades. The carpet in the hallway has gotten rather gross looking. The door lock needs attention. Breakfast is pretty basic: no hot food, but cereal, bagels, juices available

The parking spaces are entirely too small. The carpet needed a cleaning.
