Maybe the breakfast could be better, just a few option of packaged food.

Location and building are excellent, you can see the beach and the ocean from the big windows. I really appreciate to stay here.

It can be loud if you mind that, but you are in the middle of high tourist zone. The ladder to the bed is a little slippery so ask for a lower bed right after you book if you have climbing issues. Small lockers

It was right in the middle of things, boardwalk, beach and dancing right outside the door. Lots of food options nearby. It had a comfortable lounge area and decent kitchen. A breakfast of bagels and toasts, oatmeal, tea and juice. I like the little shelf by your bed. Shampoo and soap in shower

In the room the fabric floor is not clean enough, there is no catchy jackets, the table and chair are missing..

I didn't like the kitchen hours being limited. I would appreciate a little bit more availability, say up until 11 pm and after 6 am. I didn't like the strong aroma of the cleaning products used in the laundry and elsewhere. Something unscented and less toxic would be a wonderful change for those of us who are sensitive to smells and chemicals. Overall cleanliness was exceptional considering all the comings and goings. Our room could definitely benefit from a carpet shampoo. Or pull out the carpet and install laminate which is much easier to keep clean. Be aware that there is a lot of ambient noise from the vendors on the boardwalk, including loud thrumming music, sometimes starting quite early in the morning (7 am). There is also a night club next door which, on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, can generate unbelievable levels of noise and vibration which can impact sleep. The hostel is kind enough to provide earplugs but they weren't sufficient in this instance. Also, be aware that international travelers are arriving at any time of the day and night, and may be coming into your room while you are asleep. Just so you aren't surprised and startled ;-)

I liked having staff available 24/7. We had a beautiful view out over the ocean which was fabulous for enjoying sunrises and sunsets without having to go outside in the cold and windy weather. Thank you to the hostel for providing earplugs at the front desk, they definitely helped. I appreciated having a single card to access both the room and the front door to the hostel. I liked the refrigeration and food storage availability so I could make my own meals and keep costs down.

The location wasn't superb, ugly streets full of garbage and graffiti, lots of homeless and drug users on the streets; of course this is not really a fault of the hostel! It was a bit uncomfortable to climb the bunk beds. While the breakfast was cheap it also lacked diversity, no meat option at all.

The location was nice, close to the beach. The staff was quite friendly and I have met a lot of other lone travelers, had some great conversations. Nice and tidy room with a beautiful view onto the beach and setting sun.

There is no elevator for heavy luggage.

Data security here on Booking.com. I got many scam attempts as official messages from the hostel here on Booking, and their warning about it always happened afterwards. I don't know if it's a security issue with the hostel or with Booking, but this has never happened to me on other reservations here. I think the hostel should check better and avoid this type of situation.

Naturally, one must accept a bit of compromise when sharing a 6 man dormitory, but this goes with the territory of hostel living.

Clean, well maintained, friendly and helpful staff, and with an ever changing ebb and flow of interesting travellers of all ages. Location was fab for exploring Venice (my favourite part of LA), with the hostel being literally a stone-throw from the beach.
