Twice now both my husband and I have requested an early check-in since we take red-eye trips from California to see our daughter in college in Boston. I was even willing to pay the $25 upcharge to get an early check in and both times the hotel as not only unaccommodating, some of the staff were rude about it over the phone.

Love the vibe of the hotel and the breakfasts are FANTASTIC! Love all the pop culture are every where.

Ventilation in the room wasn’t great. People do not get coffee capsules and have to go to the reception each morning to ask some. No breakfast, no pool.

You need a car to move around. The hotel is good, clean and comfortable. Very nice personnel.

I do wish that the restaurant and bar were open longer hours.

The Verve is a decent and interesting hotel. It is certainly unique with its vintage artifacts from bygone eras. The staff were very helpful during both of my stays.

The electric cords of appliances (hair dryer, coffee makers, and lamps), had disclaimer tags on them, which made it hard to wind up the cords: these disclaimer tags on electric cords and on pillows and mattresses should be removed from all rooms, so electric cords can be wound, to keep them from tangling and causing trips-or-falls.

Obtaining a digital key via the HHonors app, involved having to contact the front desk, and the HHonors app did not permit smooth transition, when extending a stay but having to change rooms (if a guest is already at the hotel under an expiring reservation, the guest should be able to move to the next room under an extending reservation, without waiting until the earliest check-in time for guests just arriving; as of 2023 June 10, the HHonors app does not appear to allow this flexibility of switching to a different room with an extending reservation from 3rd party booking service, without the guest having to contact the front desk of the hotel; this should be fixed)

The most important thing that I did not like was that the money for the room was deducted twice. We booked through booking com, but upon arrival they charged us again, we only found out about this a couple of days later. The money was returned within a week. At the same time, we spent a lot of time in telephone conversations with hotel managers. All this undermined the good impression of the stay. Minus no fridge. Also, the air conditioner worked with some extraneous odors. And very, very uncomfortable mattresses. When you sleep, you fall like in a hammock. Hairdryer during operation constantly knocks out when drying hair. The price for such a hotel is very high.

Very nice inside. Thematic design. There are many paintings, posters, there are old telephone booths. Motorbike. For children it is interesting. Bright colors. Good location of the hotel. Free parking. Good wifi. Good soundproofing. Clean linen.

My toilet clogged after just one use (but the staff was great and had it fixed before my return to the room) I got one drink at the bar after dinner and waited and waited and waited to pay...ended up just leaving money on the table, along with an undeserved tip

What a fun place! Loved the colors, artwork, elevator lobby decor (I took the elevator everywhere so I could see the different designs)! I was worried at first when I entered the building as there were a lot of parties (birthday, bar mitzvah) going on and was fearful that the noise would travel up to my room, but it didn't!

The service in the bar was not good at all on Friday night. We ordered some appetizers and waited about 45 minutes; at that time the people next to us wanted to place a food order and they were told that the kitchen was closed. We then asked is our food order coming out and the bartender went in the back and came out with it immediately - a little cold. When I made the reservation through Priceline - the original advertisement showed a breakfast included. However my printout did not include that extra.I was told I needed a coupon, which I could not get at that time. So I did go back and signed the check and paid for my breakfast as an extra charge.

When we arrived we were greeted by Matt/Jay at the desk - he was super efficient. The room was fine EXCEPT there was no refrigerator in the room; other places we have stayed at have that in the room and it is quite convenient for us. Additionally, the coffee machine in the room did not function - minor inconvenience as Matt at the desk took care of it.

The room was smaller and darker than I expected and also had a funny smell. I thought maybe I should have asked for a non-smoking room, but was too tired to switch rooms. No complimentary items, like breakfast or bottled water or coffee.

The beds were comfortable. The pop art was interesting. The staff was really nice.

My husband and I love staying here for a wknd to getaway. It's very clean the staff is very helpful just wish they had a rewards point system because I think I wouldve earned atleast 1 or 2 nights free from staying here so often. Love the rms on the 1st fl with the king beds 10 out of 10 will be coming back again
