Bed and pillows were very uncomfortable.

The resort is amazing and the garden wonderful. Cottages are nice and the place quite and relaxing.

This place is truly magical. My husband and I drove up and were incredulous. if you are looking for a quaint, beautiful, quiet getaway, this is it! We cannot wait to come back and am just grateful that such a place as this exists!

Loved it was dark and quiet at night. Great Oceanside location. old school Hawaiian charm. Birds, butterflies, palm trees and extensive lawns. So relaxing.

The beach was just OK We drove to a few nicer beaches.

Very quiet. The cottage and the grounds exceeded our expectations. The staff went out of their way to take care of our every need. They were all very welcoming.

quiet, authentic and away... the three things we were looking forward to most. I was all those things. The staff was amazing and the grounds are incredible. If you want to experience 'old Hawi'i' this is where you want to go. Its quiet and perfect for a couple looking to slow down and relax.

Everything was just perfect, no complaints whatsoever!

We loved the quiet serenity and acreage to be able to stroll along the property. The Aloha spirit among the staff was also keenly felt and greatly appreciated! We also loved the close proximity to the hiking in Waimea Canyon and Koke’e State Park! Mahalo!

The cottages could be a little updated, but considering this use to be a plantation.. it makes sense why they are a little out dated. due to covid they did not have house keeping come and clean everyday. with a family of 5, we should have called to get the floors swept! that was our fault for not asking.

great location for families and spacious for kids to run around freely. the rooms were great sizes and the cottages were in nice shape with everything needed for cooking.

no housekeeping because of Covid (understandable and fine even though most Hawaii restrictions had been lifted and all other properties we stayed at on the islands included housekeeping). However, given this situation $30 daily resort fee felt too high and should’ve been discounted IMO

Cottages a little dated but you should know that going into a historic plantation! Just relax and enjoy that beautiful view.

Everything was great, sunsets were amazing, pool and facilities were exactly as described and more! Wish we could have stayed longer. Such a quiet part of the island and many local restaurants to try.

I love everything about this place, but if you want to do a lot of tourist type activities, it’s a long way out of the way. Also, the town is cute and has local places to eat, but no fine dining.

I love everything about this property. It’s truly old Hawaii. The cottages are cozy and very comfortable. The garden is amazing. It’s ultimately relaxing and rustic. It is remote, out of the way, and right on the beach. The beach is a black sand beach and is at the end of the estuary where the river meets the ocean. This results in an atypical Hawaiian beach. The water is dark as opposed to aquamarine. Swimming is still great. The beach is always empty. Its a great walking beach, as its very long and uninterrupted. The staff is friendly, helpful, and wanting to go the extra mile to be welcoming. And I love the hammocks along the shoreline.

It was perfect in every sense.

Views were spectacular, staff kind and thoughtful, the grounds were beautiful. The cottage had a large covered porch with a table and chairs for meals, loungers, and plenty of extra space to read and relax. We stayed ocean front in cottage #79 and could hear the waves from every room. And you can even see the beach while swimming in the pool!

The kitchen could have been better stocked for cooking. Little things like a non-stick pan and more silverware would have been nice since there was no dishwasher.

Very comfortable, cozy cabins. So nice to get away from the big resorts and back to old Hawaii. Beautiful property.
