The rooms and the bathrooms could have been cleaned better. The little special touches like vases of flowers or tissue boxes and candles as seen in the pictures on the website were not in any of the rooms so it didn't feel very welcoming. The water in our kettle was dirty with insects in it - seemed like it hadn't been changed for a while. Our bathroom had a musty smell and wasn't absolutely clean. The couch in the lounge area of the garden suite needs to be cleaned. Based on the pictures that were advertised on the website, I know that the property could have done much better in preparing for our stay, but just those few extra special touches would have made a world of a difference in our perception.

We had fresh linen and towels. The host was friendly and communicated well with us. We got extra blankets when we asked for them.

The room was freezing due to a cold spell but electric blankets were provided which was a godsend.

Clean, basic, no frills, beachside accommodation. Shared kitchenette. Great location. Loved the cafe/pizzeria below giving it a real beachy, chilled feel. Awesome spot in summer.

Some of the fixtures need some TLC. The WIFI is unusable. And consider sweeping under the bed.

No fault of the guesthouse but there was no hot water, so cold shower it was for me but I understand it was a municipal problem.

We arranged to book in earlier (Between 11 and 12) which was confirmed by Bamboo Seaside Cottage before hand. When we got there we rang the door bell a few times but there was no answer. We then saw a number and tried calling about 6/7 times before anyone answered. The response we got was that the rooms were not ready and the owner/manager did not inform them we were booking in earlier. The other guests only book out at 10:30 according to the lady we spoke to. If booking in earlier was not possible, why confirm that it is fine to book in earlier. Already disappointed by our reception, we entered a very disappointing room that was not at all what we expected. The toilet did not flush properly and keeps running. The shower drain is so blocked that one can bath in the shower - as the water does not run out. The matress has caused us a years worth of back ache. There was loud music somewhere on the property till around 1am. The pictures and descriptions are so misleading and inaccurate. You think you are going to be staying in a private little flatlet but when you get there you discover you are staying in a room with a dirty, blocked up bathroom, a terrible mattress and then you still have to share a kitchen with other guests that have also booked in at the same place - that you don't know from a bar of soap. We would never have booked in at this place to begin with if the pictures and descriptions were accurate. This is not what we were looking for for our mini breakaway. The price is not worth what you get and to top it off the service was terrible. This was supposed to be a quiet mini getaway for us to relax but it was the worst and least relaxing experience we have ever had at a place we have booked in to.

nothing about the guest house! we had to make it work as gail told me that if we dont want to share the place with other people we can go. the way the place is advertised it seems we getting the full house which is not the case you only get a room there not the full house, the bar down stairs a big no because they can get noisy. a big no for the guest house if you planning a family trip or even with friends. We got there and the place wasnt even ready at 2pm. biggest concern will also be covid. We cant be sharing one small place with covid amongst us

The unit markets the rooms using photos from 1 of 3 rooms. This has a lounge, braai area and kitchenette. However the other 2 rooms share a kitchen dont have a lounge and braai area. I was lucky and got the Garden Unit with the kitchenette and braai area. The problem was that the other 2 room's occupants also expected to use the braai area outside my room and this caused a problem. Also the unit was not very clean, the bed was the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in with hard bit poking into me in the night and the water pressure was not existent. IT WAS SO BAD THAT I DID NOT STAY THE SECOND NIGHT

The fire pit outside was very low (in the ground) was kind of awkward to braai like that and the huge painting above the bed - kept knocking our heads against it while sitting upright.

Great location, value for money. Lovely big bathroom and great variety of books available. It's a great place for a family of 6 or more as well.

It wasn't such a biggie but the noise from the restaurant went past the advertised 10pm closing time. I think there was a function. Just made it tough to fall asleep or watch TV, as our family room was right above the restaurant.

The room was spacious and the facilities was clean. Will stay there again but will rather book the garden suite next time which is more to the back. Maria welcomed us and was also fantastic.
