Very well equipped. Very comfortable. Very clean. We got exceptional service from the owner. I will happily stay at Berghaven again.

Didnt take my hairdryer because said on site had one. There wasn't one. The heater in the room on the wall was not working. Couldn't plug in bed side lamps as there were no 2 pin adaptors. There was coffee and sugar but no milk.

It was well located. Clean and comfortable.

With load shedding being prevalent it would be an idea to have gas facilities to heat up food, make coffee etc.

Property is centrally located and situated in a beautiful garden. Comfortable accommodation.

The camp chairs were all broken, the beds are saggy , thedown stairs toilet is far to small to get onto.

Unfortunately we didn't like Berghaven, wish we had know about the road works which made the house horrible with the notice and dirt coming off the road, carpets need replacing, house itself wasn't clean Sorry it wasn't a pleasant stay at all Slow communication from the property on location for dinner

Not at all like the pictures on booking.com. The couches were broken and uncomfortable. Bedroom door doesn't close, bathroom door doesn't close. Both these areas are where you would want privacy. The oven is unusable, the door is broken and doesn't have a handle. Knives are blunt and utensils fall apart when you use them which made cooking really frustrating. A nail sticking through the floor in the kitchen which kept hooking onto our shoes. The shower is in dire need of a deep clean. We're very disappointed with our stay. Definitely wasn't worth paying over R1000 per day. Would have been nice to know that the cabin is next to a very busy road with trucks going past day and night. After our arrival I looked at the pictures and reviews on booking.com and saw that the above mentioned issues were mentioned as far back as April!! Nothing has been done to rectify any of the issues. Yet, guests are expected to pay the rate for accommodation that is nowhere near what is being advertised on booking.com.

I was hoping the gate will be secure but it was pretty safe.

The yard was big enough for kids to play outside and BBQ facilities was excellent.

There were a lot of broken fittings, oven door handle was missing, broken tiles around the fireplace, nail sticking out the floor in front of the sink, missing heaters, broken heating panels, broken couch, room doors that could not be closed without placing a suitcase behind it. None of the bathroom room doors could latch or lock. One of the bathrooms had a door that couldn't close at all and a tub where the handheld shower was removed. There was exposed wiring in the bottom room. The whole accommodation looked grimy and was dirty- all photos were sent to the host. Drawers were utensils were kept were dirty, dust on everything, stains on pillows and cushions, dirt Marks on the stove, on the walls, doors, cupboard doors etc. It really needs a deep clean and some attention. Light bulbs missing from the fittings or not working in several places, keeping everything dark. Chipped crockery. We stayed the 3 nights because we could not get alternate accommodation but we would not recommend this property to anyone else. We let the host know the issues on the first night, she offered to send in a cleaner which we were not comfortable with. She also arranged for 2 portable heaters for us to use. With regards to Maintenance, no solutions were offered only excuses. Conversation with host and photos are available should this be required.
