Absolutely nothing not to like.

Wonderful location and river views with very accommodating owners and wonderful service. The rooms are well appointed and the beds fantastically comfortable. Breakfast was also seriously good. We are just very sorry we were unable to stay longer. Highly recommend Bitou River Lodge as it was more comfortable and better in virtually every way than other far more expensive locations.

Peacefully green!! Being woken up by the song of the birds in the morning is just amazing!! Very natural!! And the staff is incredible!! so kind!! we will definitely come back

-the breakfast menu sounded promising; unfortunately, there was not always the full selection during our stay - the pool area could definitely be made nicer; unfortunately the pool was dirty and did not invite to swim; very sad, as the place is located in the middle of nature and looks promising - bath towels were provided only after request

- the lodge is located in a natural paradise; directly on the Bitou River, very quiet and idyllic - rooms are nicely furnished and clean, except for the bathroom, which seemed a bit uninspired - Kerry, the hostess, was eager to give good tips and booked tables in restaurants for us in the evening as well as organizing a great safari

Nothing to fault, it was perfect. Just a note that it is about 10/15 minute drive to the beach.

Friendly, relaxed atmosphere. A sanctuary 10 minutes out of the main Plett shopping area. Great space to relax. We felt very welcome and at home. Comfortable rooms. We could barbecue and relax by the river.

Nothing - it was perfect

The location was perfect, stunning, serene and so relaxing. The lovely hosts/ owners and staff could not do enough for us and went way beyond anything we would ever have expected. Facilities were fabulous. Beds super comfortable too.

Breakfast was outstanding and on one of the mornings we asked if we could bring a friend. They could not have been more accommodating. Nothing was too much trouble. The linen was exceptional ( Granny Goose ). Shower pressure was great. Room & breakfast areas so tastefully appointed. I felt like I was coming home at the end of each day. Can’t wait to return!

Such a lovely Lodge. Beautiful place to be and very welcoming Sue :-) Thanks for your hospitality. It's a very quiet and peaceful place for relaxing. To bad that we just spend two nights on this lovely place. Next year, we definitely stay longer.

This was a bucolic stay. Away from the hustle and bustle of Plett, a peaceful retreat on the river, with amazing birdlife. Kerry and Clint could not do enough and were great and personable hosts. It's also nice to have the option of a braai on a quiet evening.

Kerry and Clint have been busy since their arrival just a few short weeks ago, energetically getting the property back up to the highest standards both indoors and outside in the extensive lawns and estate. The swimming pool still needs a bit of attention and there is still a little clearing of the river to do, but they have great plans in hand for these and other areas!

Beautiful location on the Bitou River a few kms out of Plettenberg Bay and inland, but close to all the amenities. Lovely room and delightful new hosts in Kerry and Clint, who spared no effort to make our stay enjoyable. Just a few rooms, all opening out onto the river with its lovely bird life. Our room was very well-appointed, spacious and with a good-sized bathroom. All the amenities you would expect, with good wifi, TV, and cooking facilities and equipment includingBBQ/braai which we made good use of for peaceful meals beside the river. Lots of good info and guide books. Kerry served us up very good breakfasts in the spacious lounge/breakfast room. Great beaches, hikes and restaurants close at hand.

breakfast is toooo good; we had to eat some of EVERYTHING!

Bitou River Lodge is our idea of heaven on earth. The immense bird life on the river, the easy mornings, and possibly the best country breakfast in South Africa make it so that leaving isn’t really needed. Yet when you do, it’s the world class hikes and beaches of Plett or dinner at Enricos (get there at 5!). Turning down the easy long driveway knowing Sue is at the other end—our idea of heaven!
