Breakfast was excellent and ready when we returned from Safari. Dinner was varied and featured local food. Loved the Braai. The location with both the private Park and close access to the public Pilanesburg National Park gave the best possible options for seeing a wide range of animals close up on each of our three days with very experienced, knowledgeable, passionate guide Sean. Lovely relaxed atmosphere throughout the resort. .

- Our room had a few maintenance issues that need fixing: the door latch was broken, the bathroom light fixture was hanging off, and there was a hole in the wall where the ants were constantly entering. - The pre-arrival organisation wasn't great. I had requested a babysitter for our 4-year old months in advance and was advised to 'book on arrival.' Upon arrival, the reception staff asked why I hadn't booked ahead of time. Reception was able to find an amazing sitter who we loved, but the stress and hassle could have been prevented if the booking staff and reception staff communicated with each other more clearly. - The location of Black Rhino in a remote corner of the park means a one-hour drive to get into the main park, which meant LONG morning drives (5:30-11am).

Beautiful main lodge area, nice pool and grounds, and big spacious rooms with both indoor and outdoor showers. Kids loved the babysitters and bumble drives. Food was excellent, and we loved that it was all buffet style, so we could eat dinner quickly with the kids and get them into bed. Some great animal sightings very close to the lodge.

That we only stayed 2 days! Loved it there

The staff, the food, the rooms, and the game drives were incredible! Our Ranger, Sean, explained so much about the park, the vegetation, and the wildlife. His passion for his work was so evident, and it greatly contributed to the game drives. We were safely "up close and personal" with so many animals ......we even saw a pride of lions!! It was an absolutely amazing experience for our family! Thank you, Black Rhino Lodge!!

the pool area could be better maintained specially the kids play area which needs some cleaning. I understand their focus is on the game drives but if they accept kids they should give it a bit more attention to these areas.

comfortable spacious room isolated from each other so very silent too. Food is tasty even though they don’t offer a huge variety of different things, everything we had was delicious (specially the meat).

The food was great, the game drives where amazing our guide Dewalt was a really great guide which made our stay very enjoyable. The Zulu dancing around the fire was a great experience to show back home, a true African feel. Will definitely be back and will recommend, just hope you don't get too popular that we can't afford it anymore!
