The family room with two doubles has a very steep stair in it. wasn’t a problem for us, but don‘t book this room with toddlers.

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful boutique hotel. We were made to feel extremely welcome from the moment we arrived. We were there extremely early before our check in and we were offered a lovely breakfast, shower, use of the pool and our room was made available as quickly as they could. All of the staff are very friendly and helpful and go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable, Karin in particular looked after us very well. The location is close to the v&a waterfront which is great for restaurants and bars. The room itself was comfortable with a large bed and good shower and everything was very clean. Pool was also lovely.

They did not have a generator. was a bit inconvenient when the power went out as no air con or wifi. That was our only fault.

Breakfast was great. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Rooms were spacious and nicely decorated. Nice pool area. The location was great. I was near the prominde to run and 20 minute walk to V and A.

We had an amazing experience during our stay! The staff was SO helpful and accommodating. They were so knowledgable and gave us great advice about what to see and where to go. The location was very central to be able to get to different parts of Cape Town but still felt quiet and relaxing. And the breakfast every morning was delicious!

The sloping ceiling but the the building was built in 1860 so there is no complaint department still standing.

The staff was so charming and accomodating that it was like being personal guests of a gracious family. Our room had a slightly strange sloping ceiling, but it was huge with a large veranda. The beds were extraordinarily comfortable. It was just a short walk to the path along the waterfront, perfect for running or walking.

The only change I would make would be in the beds. They were hard and I prefer a softer bed. We had travelled throughout South Africa and this seemed to be a common situation so I can't say it was only there.

Everything about the Blackheath Lodge was wonderful. The moment we entered the property we were treated like special family friends by all of the staff. Karin, the manager, was always attentive and friendly as were Rhiano, Pearl and the rest were wonderful. Our room was gorgeous and spacious. The breakfasts were very delicious and there were always options such as omelettes, Eggs Benedict, etc. I will definitely book the Blackheath the next time I'm in Cape Town.

Would be awesome if the pool was heated.

The rooms are beautifully decorated. Quality bedding, toiletries and a Nespresso machine are provided. Each & every staff member were friendly, helpful & professional. The bar & dining area are classy & comfortable. Breakfast was supurb, with a wide varietey of treats to choose from. Service was excellent. Blackheath is a real gem that I can recommend with confidence.
