Instructions on precisely how to work the tub's fire stoking chute would have been welcome. When to open or close the chute for instance and how high to build the fire.

We had a wonderful stay, every amenity that we needed and more. We loved the friendly animals and outdoor "hot tub"!

A very comfortable stay in beautiful Barrydale. The host was lovely and her two dogs very sweet. Comfy bed, powerful shower. We ate dinner at Mez Cafe (highly recommend) and had a lovely breakfast at Blue Cow cafe. Great brekkie and lovely views. Would recommend staying here to anyone! Thank you for a lovely stop over!

I stayed in 'Ansie' cottage over-looking the main farm house. It was very clean, spacious and well equipped for self-catering. The keys were in a lock box on arrival and entering the property was a simple procedure. The place was quiet and the perfect place to relax and kick back after a long motorcycle ride. Sitting on the stoep, nursing a glass of wine, it wasn't long before I was joined by a friendly dog and cat, who proceeded to lie at my feet. There's a hot tub at the rear of the cottage which looked very inviting but which I failed to take advantage of on this occasion...but definitely will next time! It's but a short walk into town, which offers a few shops and several good restaurants. I ate at Mez which offers an excellent and varied menu. (The Thai Fish curry was amazing!) Overall, I was very happy with my stay at Blue Cow Barn farm and will definitely book again when I'm next in the area.

There's a big rock on the way out which was a bit difficult to navigate around considering we had a trailer attached to our vehicle. No other complaints. The place was just what we needed for a night's stopover.

We had a lovely quiet family room for 3 which was perfect for us. We had a quick dip in the heated outdoor hot tub which was fun and an exquisite dinner at Mez karoo kitchen in Barrydale. Had a good sleep and were greeted by a friendly cat and dog in the morning.

Safe parking. It is a small 1 bedroom apartment/house. You kind of have your own little house, which is awesome. The owner is really helpful and friendly Good Braii area. Easy check-in and easy check-out. All above my expectations and you have what you need. Nice quiet area Beautiful setting. Wi-FI was good.

Great location that affords both privacy but also easy access to main street and the roads in and out of Barrydale The room was clean and well-furnished which was great to come to after a long day's drive. Bertus is a great host who works hard to ensure guests are well taken care of.

I loved everything! Mattewis the 21 year old cat and the 2 rescue dogs were delightful. Hostess very friendly, all home comforts available . Electric blanket was a godsend. Will be back.
