The pool needs to be renovated. A few more tv channels would have been nice.

Well-priced; good value for money. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I arrived early but my room was ready, so I was allowed to check in early which I really appreciated. I felt very comfortable staying in the hotel; it felt 'homely'. It's just a short walk to the beach. Enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners.

Very close to the beach with good services

The staff made it very easy with our 11 month old baby. We used a baby sitter (Samantha) arranged by the hotel. She was excellent and really made our stay a real holiday.

Directions from the car park to hotel facilities wasn't clear. We almost went into the staff area thinking it was the way. We arrived after dark, so maybe it wasn't as obvious as it may have been if it was during the day to go back to security gate and then to reception.

I booked but only to find that when I was on my way going to check in at 19:00 they called me and told me that I have booked 2 rooms for adults whereas I did specify on the booking that I'll be travelling with kids. I had to book alse where and they refused with refund

Breakfast is very average other than for the egg counter. Dinner was very very average and I will not opt for this choice in future. The quality of the meat and other dishes is not good. I had two dishes that was worth eating and that wad cauliflour bake and the curry on the first night.

The family room I upgraded myself to was spacious and nice. The double rooms “superior” is very small.

Friendly, pleasant, humble staff & the restuarant team checked on us often while at the pool area. Breakfast was set up well with a variety. Meals were at a reasonable cost. We were comfortable & relaxed due to the excellent security in place. Also the gate that leads to the ocean has a daily password. Well organized 👌 There is a spa inside the hotel to which I had a good relaxed spa treatment. I have recommended this hotel to my friends & family, & they will be booking into the penthouse.

My family and I had a spectacular stay at this hotel. Situated in the hills with a beautiful view of the calm Scottbrough ocean, which is ideal for swimming and surfing. The meals were scrumptious and cooked to perfection. The pool bar offered a large variety of drinks. It was so pleasant to swim in a freshly clean pool. The hotel offered miniature golf and a small playground for the children to burn their energy. There was even a pizza oven for freshly cooked pizzas. The rooms were capacious, with a private balcony, private bathroom, TV, ceiling fan, dressing table, cupboards and air conditioner. The also had a modern designed and fitted with smart technology like the LG smart television. The hotel staff always cleaned the rooms to their finest point. Reception always made a good effort to help me with whatever we needed. There is security parking there for R30 per day as December 2019. Guests have to use a security code to gain access to the public beach gate. With a high crime rate in South Africa The Blue Marlin ensures that their guests are under good surveillance. For those interested in scuba diving there is a scuba diving shop in which one can do their open water course. Divers get the privilege of diving at the famous Aliwal Shoal Reef which is one of the top ten diving spots in the world. I scuba dived with tiger sharks and dolphins. If you are lucky you can swim with humpback whales as the Indian Oceans warm tropical waters are perfect for humans to swim in. The beach itself is very pleasant. It is kept in clean condition. Offering the options of swimming in the ocean or tide pool. There are lifeguards on duty for all areas. There are rock pools only a short distance walk away where one can go snorkeling or fishing. I saw a fisherman catch a king fish and snorkeled with a turtle. I would definitely recommend The Blue Marlin Hotel as a holiday destination for anyone.

Firstly the noise was so unbearable, fireworks at the hotel and just outside the hotel, we couldn’t sleep, the food was expensive for nothing, tasteless, for the amount we paid for the accommodation it was not worth it.

Facilities are old and need upgrading. Lots of ants on the grass and seating areas. They can work on cleaning the bathrooms more, a lot of mould spots in the bathroom. The Kitchen needs an upgrade. Your food is a low 5/10 and with the amount of money you spend to stay there you can at least upgrade your bay marines and your food selection. Overall time for an upgrade on the kitchen and the cutlery and crockery

We booked Superior 2 rooms for the family. We booked and paid for Superior sea view rooms. Room 1was a great big room although it was semi garden/sea view.The 2nd room was a mutch smaller garden view room.The hotel said they were not informed. They said the hotel was full and that they would try to accommodate us.So we had to settle for a much smaller "semi sea view" room The mattress in one of the rooms was totaly worn out

We didnt like the fact that time passed so quickly and we had to go back home.

We would recommend Blue Marlin to anyone. We had a wonderful time. Family friendly. Clean comfortable rooms with great views. Activities when weather isnt great. Access to Scottburgh's main beach. Exellent spa if you want to relax. Friendly helpfull staff and dont forget...amazing food!!
