The hotel does not have a coffee shop/bar but you can buy a cooldrink from the kitchen if you want to.

The hotel offers generator back-up power during load shedding until midnight ensuring continues in-room services and wifi. Bathrooms are bigger than usual hotel bathrooms. The staff were all very helpful and organised a cot for our toddler free of charge. Excellent coffee shop/bakery across the road!

They don't offer evening meals but there was an excellent seafood oriented restaurant directly opposite (Barracuda) which I used both evenings while I was there.

Nice large room with a very comfy bed and a good shower. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and they were happy to arrange something for me on my final day when I had to leave early for the airport. (I also used their taxi/shuttle option which was great). All of the staff I met were really friendly and helpful, they try to provide a level of customer service that has all but vanished in the UK these days.

On arrival we were greeted by the lovely staff members, and given a choice of rooms. All of the team we're friendly and helpful throughout our stay.The rooms are spacious, comfortable, well equipped and airy. The breakfast was nice and varied. Very close to the beach and shops, and a short drive to Kalk Bay and Simon's Town (penguins!). No problems with load shedding due to the generator. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Very conveniently situated right next to the beach. Nice lounge to relax in and wach the world go by. Breakfast was very good! The staff are very kind and helpful. Felt safe and cared for.

The lift is slightly small, and during the loadshedding , especially in the night, the aircon was not available. For our bathroom, the shower door is not sealing the water inside completely, as result the floor outside the shower is wet after shower.

What I didn't like has nothing to do with the hotel. Some of the guests seemed a bit rude. Even rude to the staff. It did not sit well with me.

Karen and EVERYONE were so kind and friendly. From the moment I booked my reservation, I had constant and consistent communication with Karen. Once arriving, I was able to meet everyone else and was blown away by the hospitality. I will definitely visit again when I come back to Cape Town.

Exceptionally helpful, friendly staff. High quality breakfast buffet. Well-appointed rooms. Right by the beach. A generator to keep things going during South Africa's increasingly frequent power cuts.

The best hotel stay ever! The location was perfect, we could walk to the beach any time of the day or night. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially Natalie. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The place felt like home.

The staff were so incredibly friendly and welcoming! Karen greeted us every morning and made sure we had proper travel lined up! The Calders was by far the most friendly hotel i’ve ever been in!
