Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLeaving!
The staff, location and facilities are amazing. You can relax in a friendly atmosphere looking across the river at the animals in the Kruger. The evening meal is a pleasurable experience where quests and staff can sit together. We didn’t think that was our thing but we left feeling like we’d made friends. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Allan, Bruce and the rest of the team will make you feel welcome and regale you with tales of the bush or let you relax in your own way if you’d prefer. We will be back!

this is the place if you want to sleep just outside Kruger park but close to the gate. this lodge looks out on the outer banks of Kruger and you can easily spot hippos, crocs and other animals. the owners were absolutely great. we had dinner with all the guests every night, and Bruce (manager of the park) makes sure everyone has the time of their lives. we stayed in one of their tents that overlooks the river. well maintained lodges, good food and good people. Ilse (manager) managed goes for the extra mile to get things done for the guests. ten of out 10 we will go again here!

Crocodile Bridge Lodge is in the most beautiful setting by the river and just minutes from the park entrance. We saw hippos immediately and went to sleep to their sounds! Bruce and all the staff were so fun, welcoming and knowledgeable, and it was brilliant to be able to share delicious communal meals with other guests each night. The tents were also very comfortable and clean, a perfect base for exploring Kruger - we did a sunset and sunrise drive and saw all of the fabulous animals!

TurkeyThe staff was incredibly warm and caring. The room had everything we needed, a kitchenette, air conditioning, a wardrobe, a comfortable bed, an incredibly beautiful view of the river. You can have a beer on the patio watching the elephants playing in the river. We went for safari, but I would say take 3 more days to rest in this hotel. 2 days was not enough, we wanted to spend time at the hotel, but we did not have time. It is a very warm environment where you can sit by the fire and chat with other hotel guests in the evenings. They book safari for you. Safari was also very enjoyable, we did not see the big five, but there is no guarantee anyway, you have to join the safari a few times. Some people had seen leopards on a walking safari. Evening meals were delicious, there were various salads, vegetables and barbecue, it was very enjoyable. Coffee and tea are unlimited. Thank you so much for everything. we will miss you guys

The staff at Crocodile Bridge Lodge made us feel at home. It was more than anything we expected. The bonfire at night, the food, the great stories and information about the wild animals and above all, the very passionate staff made that we did not want to leave. Thank you for making our first Kruger-experience one to never forget! At night the elephants, hippos, and a lot of other animals play in Crocodile river, right in front of you! So very special:)

Russia1 of the 3 dinners didn't have hot side dish. Bugs sometimes sneak to the room, but I think that would be in all hotels close to nature.
Location is perfect - just near the Crocodiles Bridge Gate of the Kruger Park. View is superb - a lot of animals come to the river and can be seen very clearly. Hippos sounds are great. Dinner is very nice - home made food quality. No mosquitos in the room. Owners of the property are very nice people - they shared some valuable info about our next destination.

We wonder why we have never stayed here before on our frequent trips to SA, can't believe we missed it! Lovely friendly staff, great accommodation overlooking Crocodile River and right next door (literally) to Crocodile Bridge Gate. Very small lodge so quite intimate. Great facilities and the Breakfast and Dinner provided in with the price was filling and delicious. They catered for my husband who is vegetarian.

United KingdomFrom our first communication with the property during booking etc everyone was so welcoming & helpful. We were able to book our day Safari's in advance & even pay for them (which saved carrying excess cash with us, which can be a worry when traveling) We were greeted by Arno & Adele, who couldn't have been more helpful & made us feel immediately at home. Our room was right at the front with an enviable view, we were at the end (No5) so enjoyed total privacy too....apart from the visiting Hippos & Elephants of course! They have a very good back up system so you are not affected by loadshedding which is a very strong advantage in SA. We took a supply of beers with us but they do provide an honesty bar which was amply stocked during our stay. Free Tea, coffee & drinking water are provided also. Breakfast is served 7.15-8.30 & Dinner is around 7pm. Dinner times were great fun, with such a variation of people, you can chat or not (if you prefer) to others & gain tips about allsorts! Food wise, it is served buffet style, and we enjoyed a good choice of different dishes during our 5 night stay...braii... steak, sausage, ribs etc...chicken curry etc....with choices of rice, veg, salad , bread etc. Everything we ate was very good. So what makes this place stand out....it's simply just special...it's peaceful & the location is amazing, we had Elephants come right up to the fence to greet us & Hippos galore to watch... beautiful birds all around...the list goes on. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
