We were three couples, glamping in three safari tents. It was our first time at this Game Lodge and it was lovely. We have been to other lodges but this one was by far the best.

Very accommodating. We had two vegans in the group and they really went to a lot of trouble to accommodate us. Our waiter, game ranger and the lady at reception were amazing. Efficient and friendly

to be stuck in the mud after the rains. A special thank you to the helper who washed the mud off the rims.

Amon was an exvcellent waiter and very helpful during the day, doing more than expected, waking up and expiencing nature was a balm to the soul the game drive was very informative and relaxing.

The food was good, but perhaps a bit overpriced and not the best value for money compared to SA standards.

What a hidden gem of a place! We loved the hospitality of the owners who made us feel very welcome at their lodge. We stayed for 3 nights and went on multiple game drives during our stay. It was amazing that it was the owner himself who drove us around the reserve, so he was able to tell us in detail about the origins of the reserve, how they manage it and show us the wildlife conservation efforts they undertake. The lodge has a very personal and small scale feel which is extremely nice. Absolutely wonderful.

We stayed in one of the tents and loved it . The tent was very comfortable ,it was wonderful to wake up in the morning and listen to the birds and see the sunrise. The view from the lodge is beautiful there is a small waterhole where the animals come to drink. We enjoyed the meals and the service of the staff ,especially Amon. Because of the heat we only did the morning game drive with Piet . He explained a lot about the plants( Fijnbos) the conservation of the area and the animals we saw. Don't expect predators or elephants because they are not here. But the nature in the reserve is very beautiful.

amazing location- 10/10 stars. People, owners and service perseonell were really nice. I travelled 22-24 October 2023 together with my girlfriend and did the garden route. We stayed fpr 2 nights. We did several safaris. Thank you for the good experience. We loved the location so much that we booked another stay on our way back from the garden route. Thank you so much for that!

Our hosts Alida and Wayne were very friendly and accommodating. The Hartenbos Game Lodge is a perfect place with incredible panoramic views, super friendly staff, cosy chalets and tents. We booked two game drives (morning and afternoon). Thanks to Wayne and Pit who told us lots of interesting details about the wild animals and constant important maintenance work around the the huge area to support wild life conservation at its best. We were pampered with tasty breakfasts and delicious 3-course-dinners. Also our trip to nearby Mossel Bay with lovely sightseeings, walking trails, shops and restaurants was very recommendable. We loved our stay and definitely would like to return asap. Thank you very much for your kind attention, helpful advice, especially making our wedding anniversary so memorable and outstanding!

The tents are very well equipped, nicely decorated and clean and you can make a nice coffee on the gas in the kitchen area. We enjoyed dinner at the lodge and the game drive in the morning with a coffee stop at a view point.

What an amazing place to stay! You can see the animals from the lodge, if you are lucky you might see a hippo... we did the safari and had lunch/breakfast over there. Both were great!! We felt like a part of the family here and were sad to leave... We recommend this of you want to be away from the busy world and if you adore nature in a calm, superfriendly atmosphere .
