Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Austria- At booking.com it was written, that a kitchen is provided in the room, but there was no kitchen there. There was only a microwave and a water kettle with tea/coffee utensils. No plates, pots and no knifes and forks. - I missed a place to deposit the liquid soap in the shower. So I had to put and take the soap for using always from the floor during showering. - There was liquid soap in the bathroom available, but no shampoo - it would be nice to have this one as well. - Towels smelled a little bit like plastic, but they were clean.
The guesthouse in Malalane has an ideal place between the axis of Krüger NP and Swasiland. Rooms of the guesthouse are small but cozy places with an adjacent bathroom in it. The room is clean, has plug adapters for international plugs, a microwave oven, fridge and a tea kettle with teabags/instant coffee. There was an option to get a breakfast in the morning, which probably cost extra. Parking place is available on the property.

South AfricaPool was Really warm, however its not you to ensure colder weather, a Shade net over the pool area would help keeping the water cooler.
All was Perfect thank you. Lynette was Extremely Hospitable and a great hostess, she went out her way to meet our every needs. Loved the outdoor Bar area , could have been full of cool beverages tho. Braai area was also well maintained and Fire going when we wanted to braai. (Thank you to Lynette again)

ReunionThe guest house's description shows a kitchen as a common facility, the guest house rules mentions the opening hours. But we couldn't enjoy the facility as it was close and owners gone well before the indicated hours. Had to improvise a diner, which is the only bad experience we had here.
The owners were really kind to accomodate our family with two rooms side by side.

ItalyPlace of passage in a quiet position not too far from Kruger's Malelane gate. The property offers everything you need. The room is clean and with enough space. Breakfast not included, however not too expensive and very good. Parking space inside the structure.

Switzerlandnice, cosy and quite location near the central street. Very well equiped kitchen, which could also be used by the guests. We used this location as a get away to our safari day trip. Location is not far away from the supermarkets and bus stations.

ItalyAlthough there was air conditioning, the room was very hot. We did not keep the air-conditioning on all night (we never do that) but I did not feel safe opening the window because there were many mosquitoes and no mosquito nets.
I loved to stay at Hhusha Hhusha because the room was cozy, comfortable and very clean. It was very close to Kruger (only 6 km from Malelane Gate) and it was really easy to get there early in the morning. Despite it was a last minute reservation, everything went smooth. The area was very safe and there were supermarkets and a shopping mall in the surroundings. I liked that I could use the private car park that our hosts offered as a facility.

South AfricaThe room was very hot, not much air movement when the door's not open. Loadshedding obviously made it more uncomfortable.

United StatesUnfortunately the eating area closes at 8pm and not allowed to eat in room. This was communicated to us on arrival so we were aware. Could hear the neighbours. Bathroom door has a gap (it's a sliding door but doesn't close fully)
Lovely place, was clean, owner was welcoming, full kitchen available for use by guest, good location - about 12 min from the malelane gate. There was a shopping centre and food places not too far from the guest house. Parking available, a pool and lapa area. Unfortunately was too cold to swim. We chose an en-suite room, so had a bathroom. I would definitely stay here again

South AfricaPerhaps LED lights/bulbs to switch on when load shedding occurs ..very difficult being on holiday and not having rechargeable lights or the like. Even if it is just a wall light and bathroom ceiling light
Great hospitality Having the kitchen facilities is a huge help with a large family and not wanting to eat out all the time Pool perfect for cooling off after a long day in the Game Park

EswatiniThe pool was dirty when we got to it to use it. Our shower drainage blocked a bit during the morning shower.
The owner is soo nice. The rooms are big, comfortable and clean. The bed is perfect big enough. The kitchen facilities is a big big plus. Amazing stay. Location to Malelane Kruger Gaye was perfect. Shoping centre also neat by. Another plus. Owner should get professional photography to do the rooms as pictures don't do justice to the rooms

South AfricaThe bed was a little uncomfortable. I did specify that it was a short honeymoon and asked if there was anything the accommodation could do to make our stay a little more special but nothing was done. In my opinion a small/inexpensive gesture would've been welcomed by us. flowers/a card/little bottle of wine or champagne a breakfast on the house maybe.
The Braai/pool area was great, maybe better lighting would be useful in future.

Canadathere was a door between our room and another and we could hear everything. we were lucky the other person was quiet. the bunk bed is not comfy, is really noisy( wake us up at night) and the ladder to the upper bed is not fixed ( dangerous) when we compare to all the accomodation ee had in south africa we think it may not be the best value
