Absolute gem! Very nicely appointed, generously big rooms with extraordinary attention to details and personal touches. The estate as well as the food is top notch. Make sure to ask for a sunset Picknick with the Land Rover. Francois the General Manager also is a total beauty! Highly recommend!

only the restaurant was not great and a little bit too expensive and the hotel is close to a big road (you will hear traffic during the night)

Loved everything about it, it was the perfect getaway to a lovely farm Francois welcomed us, very friendly and helpful. Beautiful old buildings lovely restaurant, Dinner was exceptionsl. Enjoyed the beautiful piano music during dinner. Had a fantastic time in the beautiful pool. Our bedroom was great, every beautiful en clean. A lot of effort was made to make us feel welcome. Great way to spend Valentine's!

The food was divine, we had supper and breakfast both delicious, as we where alone in our accommodation we where not disturbed at all. Staff where all very pleasant and friendly. The location and place was beautiful and with alot of history.

peaceful, affordable luxury, attentive, makes one feel like you are the most important guest. Spoils were massages for two and a lovely picnic on top of the hill at the estate as well as wine tasting at sunset. The property manager was really so good and made sure we were comfortable at all times.

The cold water pressure in the room is very low.

We got the honeymoon suite and it was great. The swimming pool was a wonderful relief from the heat.

This is an absolute hidden gem, everything was clean, the rooms were modern amidst what is a farm full of history!

It is located a 45min return trip to the nearest town (Swellendam) so you are heavily reliant on the hotel’s dining offering. The restaurant is good but over our two day stay the breakfast, lunch and dinner menu was unchanged and had limited offerings for kids.

Beautiful setting and surrounds. The farm has a stunning pool and gardens. The rooms with antique furnishings is pretty, quaint and comfortable.

Peaceful atmosphere in very pleasant rustic farm environment. Pool area and pool joyful with very good food. Staff very accommodating.

Facility requires attention (maintenance & cleanliness) in certain areas. Impression that owners are not investing in ongoing maintenance. Farmyard shows lack of maintenance and so does homestead gardens.

Great room. Quite (albeit highway noise) on occasion & peaceful. A place for proper R&R.

There is absolutely nothing to complain about.

We loved everything! Room was super, beds super, the whole premise with the garden is a gem. Lovely people, great service and we can also recommend the restaurant. We had a great and relaxing time!

The room description is misleading The room we had was not a suite Rooms not private Restaurant can do with a bit of ambiance maybe dim the lights and light a few candles

The warm welcome and continuous VIP treatment from Francois, the GM made our stay at the beautiful Jan Harmsgat even more memorable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Special picnic under the pecan nut orchard. Beautiful setting.
