Location having chosen a different route from Cape Town to Cape St Francis. The food, service, incredible decor and overall cozy and welcoming experience is worth more than just a stop over.

The shower without a door......water all over the place and VERY cold to get out.

Friendly staff Lovely warm atmosphere. Vibey bar Beautiful decor. Next time we'll opt for a sunlit room......and a bath. Food was excellent.

I ate THE MOST delicious bowl of mealie meal porridge that I have ever eaten in my life!! Real butter, cinnamon sugar and then the cherry on top. A delicious ground nuts and secret ingredients mixture to sprinkle on top.

The stairs to the rooms on the first floor somewhat difficult to climb but keep in mind that this is a old building that has been superbly renovated.

The breakfast and dinner were outstanding. The dining room service was excellent. Room was spacious and comfortable, bed and shower great. Staff extremely friendly and helpful.

There was a tour party staying at the same time. Management allowed the tour bus to park right outside the hotel and outside our room. The tour group left at 8am and they started packing the bus from 7.15am and started the engine of the bus at that time and let it idle outside our verandah for half an hour early on a Sunday morning. This spoilt the peace and quiet we had hoped for. I would suggest in future Tour busses be required to park at least a hundred metres from the hotel. There is lots of parking available to allow this.

This is not run by anyone with hotel experience. There is no emphasis on the basics, that being guest room comfort. I generally wouldn't mind if they didn't have hotel experience, as long as they are aware of what is needed by guests.

We have a 26 year 'relationship' with this hotel. We always loved the quirkiness of the place. We still do enjoy the decor and art exposure. Dinner was good.

Not assisting with any luggage when checking in or out !!! We wanted something to snack the afternoon and they said we must go across the road for some peanuts , kitchen will only open at 18:00 , no hot water in the rooms

The hotel is located across from the local bottle store which is noisy on a weekend. We never received the room we booked (no bath and no balcony). After a discussion with reception we were moved.

I fully understand that there was loadshedding. but an alternative heating would have helped. There was a warm blanket, but the room was unpleasantly cold. A heater would have been good.

The breakfast was very poor. We waited an hour or more for poorly prepared fried eggs (swimming in oil). the restaurant was not busy at the time. I doubt there was a qualified cook in the kitchen

Location good, staff friendly - my room was great, other guests with me had a very below average room "honey moon suite" Dark and damp. Concept of the hotel is very good and the setting is great.
