Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing the property is great
Lovely large room with a deck and plunge pool. Lots of deer came close to our room. The view from the main deck was absolutely amazing and you could hear the lions roar even if you couldn’t see them. There were so many birds and butterflies it was magical. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was amazing and we had lovely evenings sitting round the fire talking to other travellers.

United KingdomHard to fault.
The whole experience was great. We saw all of the big game animals and the morning and afternoon drives were always interesting. The views from the deck were fantastic. The staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was a problem. They worked as a team and you could see everyone was well trained in customer service. The food and wine was first class and there were several treats on the safaris and in your room that were nice surprises.

United StatesAbsolutely nothing.
Excellent place for a romantic getaway. If you are looking for a small, intimate setting, this is the perfect place. There were only 10 people here one night, which was the most during our trip. They make you feel like family, and cater to your every need. An absolutely amazing experience. Food is five stars. Animals drinking out of our plunge pool, excellent game drives with coffee during the morning drive, and cocktails during the evening drive. We had the change to get an insight into several other lodges there on the Manyoni Preserve, and this one was the best. A more mature customer base, no children, excellent amenities, I really can't say enough good things about it.

ChinaIt might be part of the service provided, but it was a bit awkward having breakfast with the guides and other people staying there in the morning. There were plenty of tables but they seated us at the same table with other guests and the guides. Perhaps give people a bit more privacy during breakfast.
We had a fantastic stay at Leopard Mountain Lodge. Very luxurious accommodations and attentive staff. Excellent service all around.

IrelandIt is located about 3 hours from Durban with no public transfers available so Uber was expensive (approx €200 each way).
This was exceptional property, very friendly and helpful staff and located in a stunning area with exceptional views. The accommodation was fabulous in every way. The food was amazing and the facilities were excellent. The safari trips with our ranger Alex were outstanding. Alex has an extensive knowledge on nature and on wildlife and is passionate about it.

South AfricaI have only one suggestion to make, and that concerns the plunge pool on the deck. The step into it is quite deep making the pool difficult, particularly for the elderly , to get in and out. May I suggest that you insert a hand rail .
Graham is the excellent safari guide with amazing "spotting" ability, and for us bird knowledge. All the meals were very good, especially the breakfast. I liked that there was a choice of main courses and that the portions were not too large.

The lodge is spectacular, properly 5 stars with everything that should come with that. It’s small and you feel very personally looked after by the staff and the guides. The rooms are fantastic and the views are breathtaking. The Safari itself was amazing. Our guide Sean was brilliant. His knowledge was outstanding and completely made the visit for us. He was patient, managed to finds everything we wanted to see. We managed to see the big 4, only missing the very illusive Leopard. I cannot recommend Leopard Mountain highly enough. Totally and utterly blow away by the service, the food, the staff and the whole experience. Dont book any other safari until you have been here first!

The staff were amazing, Happy friendly and attended to our every need, ensuring our comfort. Our game.driver was astounding with his local knowledge and tailored our game drive where possible to see what we were looking for while ensuring our comfort and safety even to pouring us a wine on return from the game drive 😁. The rooms were outstanding with privacy and nature at your feet. We were privileged enough to receive private dining as we were on honeymoon and the food, ambience were immaculate, everything meticulously planned. I honestly can't fault anything, and why would I even try, I can't wait to return. Thank you to e eryone at Leapord Mountain for our beautiful memories.

DenmarkIt was our first time at a game reserve. We had not had on our radar that - given you are surrounded by wild animals - you cannot simply go for a run or a stroll. :-) It was great to have a yoga mat provided in the chalet. It was so amazing to see the wild animals from surprisingly close distance. It would have been wonderful to even get more background information about them during the game drives.
We spent four nights at Leopard mountain and had a wonderful time. Many thanks to the team, especially to George, Craig, and Abigail. A stay at Leopard mountain is luxury and pampering. Leopard Mountain Lodge is just as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. The chalets are well-designed, excellently equipped, and you will feel very private. Needless to say – the room service is impeccable. When you stay at Leopard Mountain Lodge, you will be taken on safari in the Manyoni private reserve that includes the Big 5 and many other impressive animals. We admired the reserve’s beauty with lush hills and a winding river you can oversee from the premises (no need to go anywhere else for safari). If you wonder what awaits you at Leopard Mountain: Each day follows a routine (included if you book all-inclusive, and you can, of course, decide which elements to participate in). You will wake up early and have just a short coffee and cookies before heading out for your morning safari. Several rangers work exclusively for the lodge, and they will drive you through the private game reserve and find the animals you are most interested in seeing in the wild. Beyond all the Big 5, the Manyoni game reserve boasts cheetahs, hippos, giraffes, zebras (you name it), and hundreds of bird species – we saw all those above (and more) apart from the Leopard. After your return, you will have an excellent continental breakfast buffet plus eggs prepared to your choice. You then return to your chalet or enjoy a spa treatment (the spa is extra). A lighter lunch is prepared “picnic style.” We often enjoyed our lunch on the porch of our chalet. Before the afternoon game drive, sweet and savory muffins/cakes/quiches are served in the common area. You will return from the drive in time for a three-course dinner served outdoors in the shine of lanterns.
