Place is oversold. Rooms were not thoroughly cleaned. The kept preparing a buffet sighting they were fully booked. The oil tasted re-used. Pool was dirty. Hotel staff seem unhappy and disgruntled. Spider webs were the order of every corner and eating area. Game drive was monotonous just following the other game drivers no experience of the wild just felt like viewing animals that previously were tamed and kept in a zoo. The water kept going cold and hot water would spontaneously come out and burn you. The two singe beds were uneven and left us with a backache

2 games were included in the price for one night, however we could only do one game drive as the first game drive was at 16:00 and we only checked in at 18:00. For this reason, the times of the game drives should be included in the booking so you know whether you can do both. The place is not well maintained - a tap in our bathroom didn’t work, the balcony door was not opening/closing properly, the bath plug wasn’t working properly and the swimming pool was extremely dirty, overall I think the place needs a bit of tender loving care and I was disappointed that the price does not match the quality. Also the food was included in the room rate, but really disappointing food.

The morning game drive was awesome. The location is really lovely overlooking a riverbank.

The quality of the build of the rooms needs attention. Chipped Paint, scuffed furniture and water consistency is poor (hot and cold). Mattresses uncomfortable. Messed my check in , manager was Not accommodating until I approached him the next day. His staff don’t respect him. He is out of sight when there are problems but he is very visible when meals are served (he eats well). The stocking of alcohol and drinks was poor.

The game viewing and the staff who looked After us on the game drive and in the restaurant rescued what may have been a regrettable trip. The chef is an amazing baker, great cook. Think he needs more quality ingredients but he did excellently with what he had.

The money we paid didn’t match the cleanliness. The lodge needs to improve on its cleaning skills.

The arrangement to enter the facility is done by displaying a QR Code on a mobile phone, which have so many loop holes in the system. Phones are easily damaged, stolen, lost and in some cases, as with us, QR codes did not reach us in time. This caused a delay entering the premises, and a consequent rush to get booked in to our chalet, to be rushed to a high tea, to be rushed to join a inclusive game drive. The schedule or program has never been explained as this would have made a difference to our itinerary if we knew…Back from the game drive we we rushed back to our rooms to prepare for a communal buffet, also not divulged during our booking and the whole experience at dinner was not enjoyable at all. Apart from the fact that I ended up with food poisoning the same night ( not to say it was the fault of the lodge since my wife and I enjoyed the same food and she was fine ) the whole experience was rushed and could not be enjoyed as envisaged. We skipped the morning game drive, skipped breakfast and rushed myself to the Mallelane mall pharmacy to medicate my condition. There are various construction vehicles rushing around from the park entrance towards the lodge location where other lodges and private villas are being constructed, which also dampened the personal game watching experience. I will not be returning or recommending this based on my own personal experience.

Location next to the river was awesome. The ranger is knowledgeable and shared information on the game drive and kept the game drive interesting.
