It seems they did not have a leopard in the reserve :( Even before the first game drive, they said it was difficult.

I had the impression there was no general management on premises which led to staff having little guidance. Although they did their best to make the guests feel at home.

The game drives were exceptional, our driver Aurela and tracker Derreck were the best. It was almost as if you asked to see a specific animal, they went out, searched and found it.

The lodge is close to a rail line so you can hear the trains go past often which takes away from the bush experience. Unfortunately you are reliant on other farm owners to allow access to their property when going on game drives which can restrict the area you’re allowed to view, but game is still moving freely

The security at the main estate entrance was very rude. Made us get off the car, walk to his office in the heat to fill in the entrance permit which took less than a minute to fill, this could literally have been done in the car. Upon his call to the lodge he says our names are not on the guest list. He almost ruined this beautiful experience.

Our stay at Moditlo far surpassed our expectations in all aspects of the experience. Beautiful and tranquil luxury lodge with a friendly vibe from attentive, courteous and accommodating staff. Excellent food in Boma fireside setting as well as outdoor dining area. Lovely, ultra-comfortable accommodation with frequent visits from gentle nyala rummaging in the grass and entertaining monkeys. Game drives were expertly guided by Jika and his tracker, Caswell. We saw the Big 5 within the first 2 drives! Enjoyed lounging, relaxing and cooling off by the spacious pool between drives. Not a single complaint about our stay at Moditlo.

Because of the thatch roof in the bedroom, some small tiny bugs fell onto our matress. Found myself having to shake off the bugs off the sheets every night. I understand though that we are on safari and there may not be a way to control this. Perhaps if they had nets over the bed it would have helped

We really enjoyed our stay. The safari tours were tailor made to us as we told the guides what animals we wanted to see. The evening bonfire was a great experience and on the whole the food was tasty, they catered for us as vegetarians. The resort was more intimate than i expected but we really enjoyed it

Having to leave !!

Our experience at Moditlo exceeded every expectation, from the meals to the drives and our room, the team went over and above to make our stay so special and memorable. Every element was completely perfect! It’s a trip we will never forget and we are already planning our next trip back!

Not at all a dislike, but it is good to be aware that this is an unfenced lodge and you really are right in the middle of the reserve. There is a night watchman to escort you to and from the rooms after dark to keep you safe.

In short absolutely everything! The rooms were comfortable and immaculate. The food, facilities and massages were all fantastic and you would be hard pushed to find kinder and better staff to take care of you. The daily schedule is very well worked out to optimise the game drives and ensure sufficient rest time too. The reserve itself is excellent with a lot to see (we saw the big 5 and then some) and our driver and tracker were outstanding. It is a truly unforgettable experience.

The fact that we needed to leave.

Amazing place stay stay! Travelled with my sister and we felt very welcomed at Moditlo. The staff was so nice and very helpful, the food was incredible and the surroundings just stunning. The game drives with Sidon and Gilbert were our highlight, we were able to see so much of the wildlife in Greater Krüger while getting information from both of them. They surely went the extra mile in order to show us as much as possible. Highly recommended!

Nothing, it was great.

We loved the place. The setting and faculties were great. Having animals close to our room was a surreal experience. Special mention to Witness for walking us to our room every night, to Jika and Caswell for the amazing game drives, they both have so much knowledge and respect for the animals anf kept us safe. Also thanks to Jim at the restaurant for always checking we were ok for food and drinks. It was our first safari and we would definitely return to Moditlo. We saw the big 5, the ugly 5 and much more, it really was incredible.

The breakfast juice was too fresh. If we could have more choices besides freshly squeezed juices and cappy.

Far from the city, allowing one to have a good break from reality. The rangers made sure we see all the animals including the big 5. The staff is absolutely friendly, you never feel like you asking for too much. Lastly, there's no TVs in the rooms, a proper way to take everything in with no distractions

Expensive and were some hidden costs. I thought all non alcoholic drinks would be included in the price but we had to pay for extra water as well which was a chock considering the price for staying here..

Really nice and luxurous lodge and very nice pool and facilities. Great game drives and excellent food.

Can't fault anything - absolutely amazing. From the food, to the guides, to the staff, to the cleanliness of the rooms, and last but not least the awesome game drives which are such an adventure - all top tier! Special shout out to Aurela - amazing guide! Will definitely be back here again :)
