What's not to like about this beautiful property. Louise was absolutely wonderful providing us with lots of information about the area and things to do, I had booked some time back but she kept the spirits high by sharing beautiful pics, felt like a nice build up for me. The family absolutely loved this place. Literally everything is catered for, all items a family would need are there, the view is lovely and very close to the kids play area and love view of the dam. The lawn is beautiful to play and picnic outside.

There wasn't much backup during load shedding, just one light stayed on, and the internet router. And the internet was horribly slow at all times. That didn't really matter much to us since we were on vacation, but if you're planning to work at all while you're there, or watch streamed movies, then the bandwidth is not going to cut it.

Stunning location in Champagne Valley/Cathkin Park. The house is spacious and well equipped, the rooms are all heated, and the beds have electric blankets. Resort management is great, they are super friendly and helpful. The resort has so many facilities, it can satisfy people of all ages: there is a playground for toddlers, a swimming pool, a tennis court, and a lake with canoes. You are in the middle of nature, with ducks in the pond, horses routinely wandering through the grounds, along with a couple of zebras. And beware of the monkeys, who will get into your house and steal anything they can if you don't watch out! And of course, you're in the Drakensberg, with a fabulous range of hikes and other activities. Highly recommended!

The only downside was the fridge which wasn't cooling. But I cannot fault anything else.

This was a home away from home for my family we throughly enjoyed our stay. We were relaxed and comfortable. The place was spotless and clean which we really appreciated. The facilities were great and everything was within walking distance definitely a plus. Was also easy to navigate. The house itself had great little touches that made it easy for us to be happy. I highly recommended this place. Thank you Louise for making us feel welcome.

Honestly, we actually can't comment here. If I'm being super picky, a table in the lounge area would've been a bonus (& that's literally it). It was honestly fantastic !

Everything! The location, the lady that came everyday to clean, the amount of towels to neatness to a fully functional kitchen. Really cannot rave enough about this place. It was superb, all 6 of us say so (& we travel a lot).

The fact that it was cold and I couldn't swim at the pool lol. There's absolutely no flaw about the place.

I loved the location, the mountain view was breathtaking, the air was nice and fresh, the house was beautiful and I must complement the architecture that designed the house. The interior is absolutely beautiful. The place is clean and the cleaning lady uLindiwe was very friendly.

The property did not have a backup power supply however I'm told by the owner that they are in the process of installing them.

The modern interior of the house was great, it was very neat and spacious yet homely. The rooms were adequately spaced apart and the gas stove was a great advantage with the load-shedding that was happening. There was a maid that came in every day to clean up, so less stress for the occupants. The property had a great view of Champagne's castle as well, and there was a lovely dam, a tennis court and many generally nice walks that could be taken. The staff at reception were also very friendly and helpful. Items like firewood and water etc were available for purchase. There were tennis rackets and balls for hire for a minimal fee. The canoeing on the lake was made easy as they also provided a life vest and tube for people like me who aren't confident in water.

if you’re not a fan of monkeys… but as long as windows and doors were closed, and no rubbish left lying around outside, they’re really just a really minor nuisance. but then again if you don’t want to see monkeys, why bother going to the bush (lol).

Honestly, what is there NOT to love about this property? Beautiful house, perfect for a large family! The views of the mountains are absolutely spectacular- the pictures really don’t do it much justice! The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need for cooking. Great coffee facilities. The safety gate for the stairs in the house was such a welcome surprise as we had little ones and hadn’t even thought of this (even though the stairs are in the pictures 🙈). Loved the fact that there were a number of hiking trails from the property which were great for our toddlers and not-so-athletic guests. the property is also really close to Monks Cowl Nature Reserve. We enjoyed paddling on the many freely available canoes and enjoyed a dip in the sparkling clean pool! Awesome playground facilities for the kiddies too!

Wasn't anything really just some dishes are chipped that need replacing and the loos look a little old that may need renewal. The double beds are a little small..

The location is amazing we have been to the area before. WiFi was great, cleaning services was good, facilities great for the kids. It was a comfortable stay. Well equipped. Loved the animals coming to visit.

Louise contacted me soon after I booked the accomodation and supplied all the information we needed about the house including things to do, restaurants and other information about the area, which was really helpful. The unit is beautifully maintained and equipped. We would definitely like to come back for a longer stay
