Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

I loved everything especially the location which was only a reasonably priced Uber away from all the main tourist attractions plus really close to lovely local restaurants & cafes! I also felt extremely safe & Virginia was very welcoming & Tyson in particular was excellent at ensuring safety,he went above & beyond in his role which was much appreciated as a solo female traveller! Highlights also include the shower which was hot& powerful & the professional hairdryer in the room.

GermanyThe room was rather on the smaller side, but still cozy and sizeable enough for two.
The design of the room and the incorporation of the outdoor space as part of the room were great. Also it had a very high value for money ratio, therefore a succerssful stay all in all. The car is also kept safe in the gated inner courtyard

KenyaRegrettably, my weekend booking coincided with lively guests at the motel, resulting in disrupted sleep due to thin walls and inadequate insulation. Additionally, I encountered challenges with accessing sockets in my room, requiring me to prioritize charging my devices by unplugging either the microwave or TV. Furthermore, the bedding, including the sheets and duvet covers, showed signs of staining and wear, indicating a need for fresher, higher-quality linens.
Selected Motel Mi Pi Chi for its captivating architectural details during my visit to Johannesburg for a wedding, and I wasn't disappointed. The highlight was undoubtedly the courtyard bathroom, adding a delightful indoor-outdoor ambiance to the space. The room itself was comfortable, and I particularly appreciated the welcoming and attentive service provided by Thuli and Tyson. Positioned conveniently at the lower end of 4th avenue, the motel offers easy access to supermarkets and is within a reasonable distance from the vibrant array of cafes, pubs, and restaurants along 7th avenue. The atmosphere during the day was inviting and pleasant, contributing to an enjoyable stay.

South AfricaI was very disappointed when I arrived at the hotel they told me that they gave my room to certain people which are white couple and mind due I've already booked the room one month before my arrival! They even contact me asking me to pay deposit and I did just that but when I arrived at the hotel they say we have given ur room to certain people and I couldn't understand why then call me to pay deposit to secure the apartment ? Wht hurt me most is I booked that space month before now they telling me that me and the other couple we double booked the room and deep down I knew that is not possible cos m used to book at booking.com and I've never experienced such thing. Fortunately I told them that if I don't get wht m booked for they must refund back my money cos I can not take what I did not buy or book . The living room did not have TV the kitchen did not HV cloth, sunlight liquid nor did they have cooking pots we only got one small pot and 4cups imagine been family of 7 and sharing 4 cups. In a scale of 10/10 from my side they deserve 1/10
Liked the fact that the area is too tight when comes to security

South AfricaDead batteries in the DSTV remote and volume was low. It was recommended I stand up to change the channel as there were no spare batteries available. This was very disappointing. The place has hollow wooden flooring and it didn't feel like I had privacy, because I couldn't turn the volume up on the DSTV and I could hear footsteps and voices in the hallway and adjacent room.
Value for money, lovely bedroom and bathroom.

South AfricaThe bedding wasn’t 100% clean. I feel that 1200 was steep but had to pay extra 200 because I only booked for one person even though we’d share a room and we bought our own towels. I think that it’s too expensive for just a room with no other facilities.
