Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesJust to “say something” the diner was to dark, I barely could see the food!
Beautiful property, very well located on the way to Wupperthal, that was going to be my route. Amazing breakfast, great dinner, all served at the deck they have, with a great view. They also have a shop where you can buy local products, which wasn’t my case since I was traveling on a motorcycle. Congrats to the staff as well, all amazing. Once you get to the reception/restaurant, they check you in and handle you the keys to your lounge. The little houses are very well equipped and very spacious. I was by myself so didn’t even used the whole house. The distance between the lounges is great, and you hear nothing at night, just the nature. Lovely staying and won’t even think twice on staying there if I come back to the area. Last, for the price they charge, this place is the best!

South AfricaWe didn't eat at the restaurant as the quality of food was really not very good the last time. The risotto was like mush and the steak would have formed an excellent replacement for an old takkie sole.
The houses are just so well done and kitchen equipment so well thought out. Exceptional linen

South AfricaMount Ceder is an oasis in the middle of nowhere. The staff is super professional and friendly, cater for all the different groups arriving, the guided tour with Caroline was amazing and we took beautiful photo's and a lot of memories. The supper was next level on Saturday. The surroundings is breathtaking beautiful, the waterfall and swim out of this world. Thank you so much. Just what we needed.

GermanyTook an upgrade to a house with jacuzzi which made it very memorable. Super friendly staff, they managed to quickly clean and fill the jacuzzi, good dinner and breakfast. Good for more nights but we had to move on and couldn’t try the recommended hikes. Nice place to swim in the river.

GermanyThis is my kind of place! The most beautiful and quiet oasis in the Cederberg. Perfect for relaxation, self-catering and swimming. There is a restaurant that serves breakfast and dinner if you choose to do so. We never ate there but I can state that the croissants (freshly baked every day!) are out of this world!!! The surroundings are beautiful and I cannot get over the amazingly large chalets. Even the small ones are huge. Amazing staff. Friendly service. I will always come back here as this is my first choice for the Cederberg! Although many people here say you can drive in a regular car, we do not recommend it. It's not a fun ride and it takes forever on those gravel roads that need some serious re-doing. Get a higher car, a four-wheeler is not necessary though to get there. For hikers: Be aware that this place is NOT near any of the hiking trails. You need to drive 32 and 36 km on a bad gravel road to get to either the Wolfberg Cracks or the Maltese Cross. In a regular car it will take nearly 2 hours EACH WAY as the roads are bad. If you want to hike, stay at the beautiful Sandriff Resort which is right where the hikes start. Then come to Mount Ceder to relax afterwards as I prefer Mount Ceder when it comes to enjoying the scenery of the Cederberg. We will be back for sure! Amazing place!

United KingdomThe cabin needs some maintenance (a couple of the door locks/bolts were almost impossible to use) and the floor would have benefitted from a good vac and mop, although the rest of the interior was clean!
Stunning location in the Cederberg. We stayed in Waboomhoek which was close to the river, perfect for swimming and wildlife watching. We enjoyed the half day hike, food in the restaurant was tasty and filling (and lots of good wine!) and we explored the nearby self guided hikes. Highly recommend braaiing and firing up the hot tub, both required some effort as we hadn't done either before but excellent fun!

Stunning location. The houses are large and set beautifully and have everything you need. We stayed in Puntjie and loved the view and the hottub, which is hot upon arrival. You can swim or kayak in the nearby river.

South AfricaWe stayed in the Klipbokkop luxury villa which is perched up top of the cliff over the river. Exceptional 360 views. Lovely big deck, which we lived on. There is a jacuzzi on the deck and a hot tub on the rocks overlooking the river, this new addition is amazing. We self-catered for our stay, the kitchen is well-appointed, we even baked. And we did a lot of braaing. The Nespresso machine was a nice surprise too. There is Aircon in the bedrooms for the hot summer days. We spent a lot of time on the river with our lilos, and we rented some paddles to take the canoes out too. We enjoyed the nearby Waterfall hike at sunset, where you can take a dip in the pool. The stars are incredible. The time spent here is so restorative. Can't wait to go back.
