Most of all the spirit of the owners Kheli and Jogesh and of their property with its most beautiful and cared for garden. It is a very special place of great hospitality and warmth! And yes on of that all the cottage and its view are stunning. Thanks Kheli and Jogesh, for 5 unforgettable days.

The only thing was the fridge was too small for 4 people staying for a long period. We had to buy ice every day for the cooler box to keep our stuff cold and fresh.

Owners friendly and accomodative. Very hospitable. Very interesting surroundings. Pleasant and peaceful. The doggies enjoyed running around freely. Beautiful braai area and seating places all over. We could take beautiful photo's overlooking the lagoon unfortunately photo's are on my daughter's phone

There were no negatives at all for us, everything was just as we expected it to be, in fact, it exceeded our expectations.The "hill" that is sometimes referred to as a slight challenge to get up by car was not an issue at all. We found this to be very easy to do and posed no difficulty at all, even in a small motor car.

There are 3 things that stand out for me, firstly the hosts (owners), they are wonderful, take exceptional care of the property and the guests and personally meet you on arrival. Secondly is the actual venue, it is beautifully landscaped, set in a magical, mystical garden and perched high on a hill with the most magnificent view of Knysna lagoon. Lastly the facilities are great and has absolutely everything you need.

The shower was a bit temperamental.

This was a lovely place to stay in Knysna. The hosts were warm and welcoming and the accomodation was comfortable and quirky. The cottage was surrounded by greenery, with great views over the lagoon and was very peaceful. We had a very relaxing stay here.

the host have been outstandingly welcoming and hospitable. their retreat was the most beautiful little place of heaven we encountered during our trip with many beautiful details and full of facets. the lodge itself surprised with an astonishing south-western view over the village, which allowed us to watch the sun set from this place above the trees. we thank both of our hosts for the remarkable time and wish them all the best for the upcoming years. definitely worth a second visit!

We had an unbelievable experience and stay at Mount Joy Cottages to say the least. Our stay extended from 14th to 19th April 2022. Over and above the excellent facilities and views offered by the property; it was more the kindness and hospitality of the owners that won us over. Our dog had escaped from the property whilst we were touring the wilderness and was missing for approximately 24 hours. In this time our hostess had personally assisted us in searching in and around Knysna. Our dog was reported to have been seen on Thesen Island several hours after his initial disappearance and she had gotten in contact with a friend of hers to allow us to access to the estate so we may search the premises and the surrounding lagoons. All in all, I believe that our hosts went over and above. They provided us with an unforgettable experience. We would once again like to thanks Yogesh, Kehli, the residents of Thesen Island and the Knysna community as a whole for all of their assistance, support and generosity. We do not believe that we would have found our pet as expeditiously as we did if it wasn't for the combined efforts of the entire Knysna. Thank you Kheli and Yogesh, we are forever in your debt.

The hosts, Yogesh and Kheli, are incredible. So delightfully welcoming - we even got delicious fresh hot cross buns for Easter! Their garden is beautiful and all parts are accessible as a visitor. Knysna has some very generic/modern/soulless places to stay and Mount Joy Cottages feels like it’s part of the soul of Knysna. The property is close to everything, but feels like it’s in the middle of nature.

The steps to the upstairs bedrooms were quite steep and a little scary. But the kids absolutely loved it and they enjoyed having that space to themselves.

The view from the room was more than wonderful! The bungalow was soooo spacious and there was enough space for everyone. the kitchen was fully equipped and made the place feel like a home away from home.

NO PRIVACY NOT PET FRIENDLY Yogesh and his wife Kylie became VERY ANNOYING!. Yogesh was a better host than his wife Kylie. This place IS NOT PET FRIENDLY!!!!! We brought our cats with us on our Knysna trip,we arrived late evening at the accomodation and the next day early morning Kylie came in took all the comfy materials out of.the house... Even a blanket I got comfortable with. They constantly were knocking on the door Every day during our 3 day stay. I WILL NOT WANT TO COME BACK.
