It was somewhat difficult to get to the beach, and the photos on booking.com suggested the beach was readily accessible.

We went to the restaurant twice. On the first evening ther was live music and sadly the singer made conversation impossible. Her mic was MUCH to loud and singing was not that ... Food was good on the first evening. On the second evening (sunday evening) we were again in the restaurant. We told them ahead of time. Sadly they were out of eveything: No steak, many drinking choices were out, no fillet, ... it was ridiculous. They should have just told us, that they were out of everything, then we would have gone some other place. Then we payed for 300ml Coke but got only 200ml. The staff was super friendly but the experience in the restaurant was ridiculous. They should have told us! In the 6 sleeper, sadly only one room had aircon, another had a fan, the other two beds under the roof had nothing but an open window. And we had 38°C during the day!

We enjoyed the place in the forest, the houses were beuatiful. The pool was very nice and the closeness to the beach very cool!

The lighting in the kitchen was poor and the kids in the loft did not have much storage space. Air-conditioning in the lounge area would be a huge bonus.

The cabin was set amongst the trees which made it very private and peaceful.

Residents at the lodge should not have to pay for the activities such as Putt- Putt, pool tables,etc. Day visitors should buy wrist bands to use the facilities.

There is nothing I didn't like. Everything was just amazing. Might have a suggestion just to add an extra light above the stove as it was a bit dark in the kitchen when cooking at night. But this place is a jewel. Loved every moment.

The location is just amazing. My family and I had such a relaxing and wonderful time at Mtunzini Forest Lodge. The log cabin was situated in the shade and surrounded by a bush which made it feel like we were there all alone. Swimming pool and slides were well enjoyed by the kids. Will definitely return. This is my new favorite place.

The units are now showing their age with many items requiring work eg. our fan was connected to a separate wall light, so we could not operate the fan at night time as then you would have to sleep with the light on, the banister on the deck had separated which was a bit of a safety concern, the cupboard doors don't stay on the rails and collapse inwards, the lamp shades hang from the table lamps, a rung on the ladder to the loft was loose, which was a bit of a safety concern, light bulb had blown in the lounge. As a parent, the open trap door to the ladder leading down from the loft creates a high level of anxiety for me at night time. I would suggest a piece of timber that can slide over it when required. The cleaning lady came very late each day, which resulted in us washing dishes, purchasing our own toilet paper and doing general cleaning ourselves each day. I must comment that when she was there, she cleaned well, so maybe just too many units to get through each day. I do feel the unit requires a deep clean though, as I noticed that the cushion covers on the couches had traces of something that had spilt and the floors seem to be very tacky specifically at where the floor meets the walls. The bathroom and kitchen were spotless though, which are the two areas that really count for me.

The staff were so accommodating of our request for a specific unit with one of our guests being heavily pregnant. The view from our chalet was absolutely beautiful, and the birdlife is prolific! The pool is brilliantly maintained - Actually so impressed with this, as the pool is used all day every day and is crystal blue! The super tubes are fantastic, with three options to choose from, there is something for everyone. Also feel that these are well maintained. Loved the new sun loungers with the pull out tray. There are also way more available this year than last, so didn't feel that we had to go too early just to reserve one. The walk down to the beach is an absolute treat and access to a private beach is a spoil. The forest walks from the resort must be my absolute favourite! Makes this venue very special. The Manager is always attentive and visible. Garth is always making sure that guests are respectful to each other from a noise perspective. The grounds and surrounding nature are beautiful.

The lodge is well located with a fantastic walkway to the beach, was a great experience for us city folk to get away to the tranquil forest , rooms were clean and beds very comfortable,a home away from home, Lindiwe at reception was very welcoming.The pools and play area were very nice, fun for the entire family,all in all, a very well maintained and clean resort,we definitely plan on going back.

All staff are friendly and very helpful. the place is kept clean and love the restaurant that is on the premises. The walking trails are nice, would like to do the bike one next time.

Be aware of the monkey's. They are not scared to challenge you if they want something. We just kept everything closed when we left the unit and did not leave food unattended when we were at the unit. Take matches or a lighter if you don't smoke (it is not supplied)

The unit was surrounded by the forest. We could not see other people from the verandah of our unit, although you could hear that there was people nearby. The unit we stayed in had a shower. The bed was very comfortable for our week long stay, one of the best from all our travels. There was candles for loadshedding and all the other necessaries. The forest walk's are great.

Cabins are a little small which sometimes makes it seem cramped.
