Absolutely loved this magical place. Nice and quiet getaway, falling asleep with only the sound of the river. So much attention for details by the sweetest couple who run the place. Amazing view. Nice walk at the property along. the town close by felt very safe. We used this spot to travel to Drakensberg park, so after a day of hiking this was the perfect place to relax. One of our favorite spots in South Africa!

This is such a gem. It was a very rainy, overcast weekend there but it was so cozy inside with the little fire in the living room. The cottages have incredible views of the river flowing down below and we went for a little hike along the river, which was gorgeous. The hosts are extremely friendly and always available for assistance over whatsapp- communication was great. Overall we had an incredibly lovely time there and would go back in a heartbeat. Thank you Christine and Grenville!

Beautiful location overlooking the Lions River with the tranquil sound of running water to put you to sleep. The cottage was clean and equipped with everything we needed. Our hosts, Grenville and Christine were warm and welcoming and happily answered questions we had about the area. An awesome place to stay which comes highly recommended.

The parking spaces are a bit awkward - especially for bigger cars and particularly for the honeymoon cottage. You can see that many previous guests have banged their doors off the structure - as did we, unfortunately! The road to the property is under maintenance (which made getting there tricky!)

The river is a stunning aspect of the property as well as the view. It was lovely to be able to go down to the river and look at the signs of otter activity. The neighbouring cows are great! The bath/jacuzzi in the honeymoon (Copper) cottage has a fantastic view! The hosts were attentive especially when there was non-scheduled power outage and were checking in if we needed anything !

Stunning view over the Lions river. Lovely cottage with everything you need. Beautiful garden and a very relaxing atmosphere. Fabulous hosts. We will definitely visit again.

There was nothing that we did not like.

What was there not to like :) from the detailed message from Christine regarding our check in, extremely comfortable bedding, amazing view, well-equipped kitchen, loved all the little extra details like wildflowers and treats, The Spa bath which was amazing and the Kitty Cat Welcoming Committee. Christine was an amazing host and accommodated us where she could. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back for a longer stay next time.

The view and extensive property were lovely. It was fantastic to explore the forest and river on the grounds. The cottage itself was perfect for a romantic stay for a couple - the hot tub with a view of the misty forest was an added bonus. The hosts were very kind and went the extra mile to add little touches to our stay. Would highly recommend for any local or international tourist looking for a slice of the quiet countryside.

load shedding affects not only electricity, but the water pump too (Agric living), no fault of the owners - but life in SA - familiarise yourself with the load-shedding before planning romantic soaks in the tub :)

The cottage is so cute and cosy. The fireplace and jacuzzi both are perfect for the cold midlands weather. On arrival, there was such attention to detail with the set up of the cottage and felt so special. A huge perk was a generator during loadshedding. Would definitely recommend this stay.

The only shortcoming is that the kitchen is not edequitly equipped for a braai, no braai thongs, no braai dishes
