I foŕgot my wedding ring at the establishment. The establishment called me just as I entered Johannesburg that they found my wedding ring. Which was great, because I was not yet aware of that fact. But then I asked them to courier thw wedding ring to Joburg at my cost. They refused and I had to drive R290km to Dulstroom and R290km back to Joburg the following day. I wonder how this would have worked if I lived in Cape Town or even worse, out of the country. That soured the whole experience for me.

I loved the hospitality and location. My Wife Loved the fireplace. That was a winner for her. She also Loved the fact that our room was upgraded.

On arrival I was taken to room 19. The block had a very bad carpet smell. not the reception I expected . I raised with my porter, went to reception and reported. They said they'll go check. I left the hotel, returned no call no feedback. I called reception to follow up, only to be told they had someone in room 20 and they had not complained. Only when I asked to see a manager and demanded that someone comes to the room, did someone come. They claimed the block was newly built and it's the smell of paint, eventually admitted that there was some flooding that had happened. They promised to move me to another room the next day as they were fully booked. Wifi was poor.

I stayed in 2 rooms. I liked my second room, No 7. The room was absolutely gorgeous, just the experience I came for. Staff were generally helpful and friendly. The service was excellent, loved that the booking included breakfast. The location, ambiance and scenery were perfect! Enjoyed the small town and eateries around just a walking distance away.

I had only one problem: the route from the parking lot down to the annexe. The risers are not up to code on the top stairs and difficult for the elderly or children to negotiate. The steep paths slant down but also to the left or right. Some sections are steep enough to warrant a railing. There are no rails on the bottom stairs. At night, two of the steepest paths are not lit at all.

The staff were friendly and attentive. The room was clean and comfortable. The one dinner I ate there was very good and the little extras appreciated.

The service at breakfast was disappointing on our first day as there was no one to assist us. The waiter eventual arrived, and apologised for the delay, as he was busy in the kitchen. Tables were available but not cleaned when people left. The Breakfast was great when it arrived.

The room was absolutely stunning and exceeded our expectations. The location was great, and close to all the restaurants and bars. Dinner was great and had an amazing atmosphere.

The night guard.... one night I was sitting outside, next moment really strange sounds come out of the bush next to me. I got up to lock myself in the room, but the next moment he appeared from behind the bush. I did asked him if it was him making that strange sound... He just said no, and walk past my room with a flashlight in his hand? That was very awkward for me.

Room, beautiful inside, but would have love to get a room with a view. I quickly felt closterpfobia walking outside, staring at 2 walls right in front of me and a thick bush next to me for 4 days. I was supposed to stay for 5 days, but I just couldn't handle it anymore to stare into 2 big walls right in front of me and a bush next to me. I truly felt closterphobia. Whereas if I could have a view, I would sit outside and just relax, work on all the confusing stuff and lots of other things in my head and heart. I was under the impression that breakfast was included in the price - Egg Benedict - a very small portion with no bread to clean your plate, still hungry afterward. It was expensive for that amount of food, so I went to a coffee shop that had a wonderful breakfast that cost less and made you completely full 😋 Dinners- Fantastic good food 👌 Compliments to the chef

My sister and i both have hip problems and it was extremely difficult for us to get around with all the stairs indoors and out. Some of the stairs have no rails or support for us who battle.

Special mention applause to David who hosted us and served us in the restaurant. He was absolutely fantastic beyond all measure. It was also a wonderful surprise to be upgraded to the signature suite. Thank you.

Friendly staff and good service.. During winter time the fire place in the room is a huge advantage! Now was summer and it didn't matter really.
