We found the a la carte menu a little sparse, and disappointed that there was no lamb or mutton main course option.

Food was good, though the paella was a little too spicy.

The pool water was a little too cold, but it was an absolutely wonderful experience otherwise.

The Chalet was perfect and had everything we required. The best part was the braai station, right outside, with plenty of wood available. The surroundings were beautiful and tranquil, and we saw many zebras and other bucks walking around. The on-site restaurant had really great food and drinks. If you'd like to self cater, the kitchen is well set up. All you need is the groceries and braai meat to see you through your stay. Accessing shops once you are there is not an easy trip, as the lodge is truly in the middle of nowhere... which is wonderful.

Parking at the units was a problem. People parked where they should not, and it impacted on our view of the valley and lake. Management did rectify this matter. The unit above us was very noisy even at night, sounded like children running in the room. And the thudding noise was unbearable.

Breakfast was excellent, The nature and surrounds are beautiful, hiking and mountain biking trails was good. Our room was comfortable and very tidy and clean.

The generator is too noisy specially at The ManorHouse. Even when the generator works there is no electricity in The ManorHouse only noise. We were looking forward to peace and quiet but they will have to consider silencing the generator. When the generator was off - it felt like heaven.

Location was great. The service we received was excellent. The nature drive was wonderful. The meals outside watching the sunsets were outstanding. All the staff are very competent and friendly. Special thanks to Daniel and Rudi.

Only regret was that we only stayed one night!

The location was stunning. As you reach the point of the drive where you can see the Lodge over the rise you can tell you have picked the perfect place. Beautiful natural surrounding. Quiet. An oasis. The staff were just incredible. Special mention to Riaan and his cheeky fun super friendly attitude... and of course the drinks he designed and recommended :) The room was beautiful and so luxurious. The dinner we had in the restaurant was so delicious... as was the wine... and that view! To top it off, we took a moonlit walk late at night when the restaurant was closed and ended up sitting watching 4 zebras grazing around the watering hole! Just perfection! Highly recommended!

Wi fi was very unstable on the cottage side, and the man on duty not to friendly and willing to help solve the problem, I hope management have made arrangements to show after hours staff how to reboot the wifi...

Perhaps a games room for kids young and old for the evenings, e.g pool table, table tennis etc! Would be nice to be able to do our own drives around the nature reserve when roads in adequate condition.

Excellent breakfast! Beautiful, peaceful location away from all hustle and bustle - perfect for rest, relaxation and connecting with nature. Staff super friendly and pleasant. Pool wonderful in summer!

If you want to be near to nature, then Rooiberg Lodge is an excellent destination. Excellent hiking routes. The restaurant serves good food at an affordable price. Chalets are well-maintained. Friendly staff. A place to rest and recharge.

Great location, don't attempt without suv cross as minimum we had Citroen c5 and was ok 4x4 would of been better car hire company let us done should of had Nissan x trail. Ideal for landrover , Hilux etc Fantastic location if you have proper 4x4 as we have in uk would be even better as there are off road trails on site
