Our room smelled of cigarette smoke. Not the hotel's fault; some inconsiderate guest.

We loved the breakfast and dinner buffets. Delicious food, great service in the dining room. All the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was compact but had everything we needed. The beautiful gardens and golf course create space for peaceful walks. The dam has abundant bird life as well as hippos and crocs, which can be viewed from the hide. Be on the bridge over the dam at sunrise to see the hippos coming home, or at sunset to see them walking off to feed in the bush! I had an excellent back massage at the spa. We hope to return one day.

At check in, I wish I had been told that tips are collected at checkout. I had given tips to servers constantly and then gave again at checkout because I didn't know. The bathroom is small. The hotel is a nice hotel as far as South African hotels go (in general I find that the South African hotels are a step down from USA hotels so a 4 star hotel in SA is more like a 3 star in the USA- my opinion only) but the rooms need an update. The public areas are beautiful and well kept. The convenience store is pathetic. I think it's owned by an outside company but it should be changed. Lastly, I loved my massages but didn't enjoy having to listen to conversations that some employees had right outside. I think they were from the office that is just opposite the salon.

Amazing staff- very friendly and helpful. Thought that the guy leading pool activities was great too. The massage therapists (I had two) were fantastic. The public grounds are beautiful. There's a nice looking golf course (I don't know play so I can't rate it), tennis courts, and a few other sport facilities.

No duvet on the bed, during winter? Other guests also staying in the hotel made some noise late night and early the next morning.

Arriving after a long drive to be told upon check-in that my reservation on Booking.com did not include a child, when it did. It was resolved and I even indicated that I would be happy with an extra charge if needs be. My issue was with her starchy attitude, as if there was no option and I should go back home. All great otherwise!

Great stay, friendly staff (one exception described in the other section) and neat facilities. Excellent location. Close to Kruger Gate.

Room 207 (the same room we stayed in a year ago) still has a leaking shower which wets the bathroom floor. The walls are not sound proof meaning you can hear the conversations of guests in the next door room. the bathroom needs an upgrade. The reception staff and majority of food service staff (there were two exceptions) were unwelcoming and indifferent making the experience dampening. On checkout, the bill incorrectly charged us for meals (which was included in the deal) and incorrectly charged a R600 towel deposit. The entertainment provided is outdated and needs a relook as it makes relaxing at the pool a burden.

The beautiful upkeep of the grounds and nature on the property, including the hippo viewing site. The swimming pools, walking trails, and kids playing area are well maintained.

Fabulous venue for Families. Dave handles the kids entertainment and is wonderful, we had such fun and highly recommend, the resort is beautiful, staff friendly, food good. Loved doing the Saturday park run. Kids activities, my child cannot wait to go back.

TV in the room did not work. ID card for room had te be reset everyday after room service cleaned the room.

cold showers, having to wait each morning for the water to heat up,l.restaurant could do with a lot of improvement,waiting for tables to be cleared up, not enough seating , sat for 30min without drinks order, however very friendly staff,love them
