The kitchen could have a little bit more, like sharp knifes, bigger pots or pans, but overall well equipped.

The entrance gate jammed when trying to get in but it was sorted as soon as i called the office.

The confusion of names for this place - its signposted as --"Swellen2" on the N2- so we shot way past Swellendam and then had to turn back after phoning the site.. The pool was green and the road noise also a problem

I booked for a cheaper room but Jaco gave us a more expensive room considering the fact that it was too hot and the room he gave us was more cooler. He is very friendly, can talk for days, 😊

The fridge had a awful sweet when on. They is was construction and dirt equipment behind our room. Advert said you have your own braai area at cottages which is untrue. No access to any animals. Trampoline was broken.

I like the layout of the living quarter and the fresh open space.

The only downside was the electricity which kept on tripping, leaving us mostly in the dark for the evening. Bruce attended to the matter but it acted up again during the night. Wifi is also not very stable all of the of time.

Newly built accommodation (converted stables) with lots of potential situated on a farm-like property, a mere 2km out of town on the N2. I was pleasantly surprised and will recommend this place any time for an en-route sleep over. I received a warm welcome from Bruce, the host. My unit was neat and clean equiped with all the basic facilities I required. Nice big shower, comfortable bed, fully equiped kitchen including a gas hob and it's pet-friendly here! Overall I do reccommend this place, I will be back.

There was no TV in the cottage. Wi-Fi was weak.

The staff was friendly. The rooms were clean. There was a pool and braai facilities and was fairly peaceful and child friendly.

The floorboards of the lodge made a lot of creaking noises. Also the shared kitchen, some poeple left their stuff without cleaning.

We loved the pool, it was small and very clean, as well as the rooms was very neat when we arrived. The bathrooms was neat as well, and the privacy they gave us was nice. There was also 2 fireplaces.

It over looks industrial containers/power plant? Bontebok is fairly small and Swellendam doesn't have lots to offer so it could be worth just doing the park and carrying on. The grounds of the chalet are sweet enough, but it wasn't a place you'd explore as such, there were quite a few contractors using the place as a base (including our neighbours (who were lovely)), but it may be worth considering if you're also a female solo traveller.

This is a great spot for Bontebok park (literally opposite), we got upgraded to a Chalet which was nice, but on the flip side this is because the owner was concerned about putting us in the shared area with contractors. We had everything you could need self catering wise, the rooms were clean and everything nicely presented. The owner was a friendly man and made us feel at home.

Entrance to the farm road was difficult to find at night but it was raining which made it hard to see. Bedside lights would have been nice. The verandah lights were bright making the room too light. Dimming lights would be an advantage.

Brerakfast was not included. Location was convenient as it just off the N2
