The bathroom floor is a bit cold (stone) and the shower is not closed with glass or curtain, so water gets everywhere. It would also be nice to get more selection of breads at breakfast and more vegetarian dishes for dinner. Slippers in the room would also be a good addition. These are all minor, though.

The view at the hotel is amazing. The hot tubs are nice and location is quite convenient for the area (for such an isolated hotel, but drive to attractions was totally fine). The staff was very nice and accommodating and the room was beautifully made up for our honeymoon with flowers and a gift. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and very good food for breakfast and dinner. We would definitely recommend, staying there was one of the most special experiences. The electric sheets in the room are perfect for cold weather.

Road onto property. It was quite chilly in the main rooms.

Great place to stay, but be aware that the road in is 8km of very rough, pot-holed road. Room 4 is an amazing room. Some rooms were at thd back and would be dark. Ask for room 4. We were leaving early, and got a great breakfast delivered to our room.

The road leading to the property is a gravel road and we were stuck in mud for a few minutes as it was raining.

Overall decor was a bit dated and receptionist could have been a little friendlier.

The chalet was very well maintained and super clean with stunning views. Was so fabulous to be so embedded in nature and to hear the sounds of the waterfall. Lots of food to light the fire which kept the cabin super cosy. We used the Kolkol which was one of our most magical experiences as a family. Dinner was also super tasty and restaurant staff very friendly.

We loved our stay at The Fernery. The staff was incredible! They did so much to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we wanted to make our stay enjoyable. We stayed during the winter, so the rooms were a bit chilly even with the space heater and fireplace, but it was cozy every evening in bed with the bed warmers. We used both hot tubs- just remember to book in advance if you want the hut tubs- we loved the hot tubs at the end of a long day exploring and hiking. Lovely stay! I hope I get to stay again in the future. Do pass up on this accommodation if you’re in the area.

set in a most spectacular situation on the edge of a river gorge with its water rushing down to the sea. it smelled of pine and forest and all we could hear was birdsong and running water. how did they build it, we wondered? so close to the edge, yet so safe to stand on.... dining room had glorious views of the sea beyond, and the cocktail deck was perched above the rushing water. quite an extraordinary place.

There was heavy smoky smell in the room even we didn't use the fireplace. The recomendation was not to open windows and doors due to monkeys and other animals that can enter( there are no nets on the windows) so we felt uncomfterable during the night. There must be a way to ventilate the room before new guests arrive.

The location, the hot tub, the amazing view, very comfortable room and good breakfast. The stuff was helpful and nice.
