The only small issue we had was our supper was at times a little on the cold side, but they attended to our issue.

The staff were very friendly they went out of their way to make your stay pleasant. Plenty to do, swimming, tennis, bowls to name a few. Room was just fine, lovely view. Meals good. We felt completely relaxed and will visit again.

There was a lack of organisation on reception and a lack of knowledge regarding the area when we asked about local activities and places to go.

The hotel has an amazing array of sports amenities, and the location is amazing. The staff are great with a big call out to Heidi. The whole team are responsive and works hard to make sure you are happy. The food is good, but 4 courses, not 5 courses as advertised. On arrival, we were put in the wrong rooms, but this was sorted the next day. The hotel is dated, but that is explained in advance, so there is no issue there. The facilities for children were amazing. It made me wish my son was younger so we could have left him with the team and all the activities.

The rooms are in desperate need of a thorough deep-cleaning.

I loved the colonial style of the property as well as the welcoming family atmosphere. My kids absolutely loved the amenities available and the situation of the property is in good proximity to adventure spots outside the property. The staff were absolutely outstanding!! We also loved the a la carte style meals - a fantastic break from the self- catering holidays we’ve become accustomed to.

Breakfast could be improved with other options not bacon and egg everyday. The food was okay but not gourmet classification. The chef should allow for substitutions and exciting menus. I don't eat pork and mutton and the menu was on a tight schedule. There should be consideration for all types of people not a specific group.

The room we stayed in was a little “tired”, but that said it was clean and comfortable for a couple.

Breakfast and dinner included in the rom rate, these meals were off the charts good, dinner in particular was outstanding 5 course meal. The staff and general atmosphere was warm, olde world and charming. The gardens had so many little secret places to relax. Overall, and excellent stay and a lovely place to experience the Drakensberg.

The establishment is very old fashioned and old school. There is a distinct smell that’s off in the rooms (as if they haven’t been used or opened for a long time) I guess it’s great for elderly people but not for us young people since we want comfort and modernity.

People in the suite next to us, were very noisy, they spoke very loud late at night which was unpleasant.

The wastage of water in the bathroom. Have to run the water for 30 minutes before you get hot water.

Very friendly staff, the waiters in particular went out of their way to assist during meals. Heidi & Vincent looked after us. Beautiful, memorable views !! The gardens are beautiful & well looked after

Food was nice in general. It would have been very nice if they had a better choice for vegetarians. Sometimes it was very very narrow choice or get the food without meat, specially for breakfast.

Some of the rooms do not have hot water. You have to ask for a room close to the hot water

Staff very friendly and helpful. We had a problem with hot water and they moved us to another room the following day The food was good but if you are a big eater I would recommend you to eat elsewhere too as the portions are small.

Very little activity variety. They can at least introduce hiking trails to enhance health of visitors and see the nature.
