How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Only stairs - not ideal if you have a lot of luggage. They do assist carry it up the stairs though. There was something wrong with the TV - couldn't connect to the wifi. Opt to pay at the property because Bookings.com will confirm your payment but not debit your card and credit the Hotel. One of the things that delayed my check-in while trying to confirm my payment even though we were exhausted and just wanted to get to our room and rest.
The room was absolutely stunning - modern, very spacious and super clean. Its located in a really quiet neighborhood - perfect for if you need some peace and quite or a good night sleep before an early morning flight.

Breakfast was only served at 7am,as a professional time management is very important,have the option of breakfast at 6/6:30am would have been great. NEXT TIME I'll be sure to arrange it ahead of time.
The hotel is easily accessible from the airport, and has everything available for a quick over night business trip. The room was clean had good wifi and the staff was very friendly. Will definitely book again for a business trip.

Location: near shopping centres and other amenities. Staff: very friendly and helpful. Hotel very clean and and well kept. Rooms reasonable size.
Although an old building, the hotel is clean and well kept. I however did not like the idea of having to pay to have a room with air conditioning. This should be standard . The breakfast was not great. No much options and not a dime. I made a mistake of pre-paying for the breakfast. .

Loadshedding no generator. Construction was in progress. We were 3 people, but coffee was provided for 2 people. Bedside lamp weren't working and the table were broken

I did not get the double bed I booked for and none was available. Staff on duty went out of their way to accommodate request but it was not possible. I appreciate the effort made. Noise in passage after midnight was somewhat disturbing but that was because of a fault on part of hotel.
Was well received and all staff were unfailing friendly and helpful. Generally happy with reception at hotel and it was my second stay there.

There is a Nigerian man (I would like to assume he is apart of the staff as a security or receptionist) who guarded the entrance in the evening. He is charging guests R200 for a new key card with no respect and a great deal of arrogance upon request for an invoice. (I asked for this as I could feel as though this policy was a faux however it almost led to a physical altercation) I was genuinely concerned for my safely upon the last night of our stay to an extent where I put all my luggage on my door so he couldn’t come in. Very disappointing experience.
This is a very well kept and maintained hotel, I enjoyed the facilities and it was lovely to see that the ladies at reception accommodated us very well.

Limited TV channel. The restaurant was not working or operating. Smell of dust maybe due to renovations.
Location was easy to find.safe parking provided. I loved the shower.

"Emergency" late evening booking when our flight got cancelled while on the runway and returned to gate. Uber to hotel and found ~ 5 other parties from the flight waiting at the check-in desk but they handled it in good order. Nice but not remarkable room we were only able to stay in for about 7 hours before Uber back to the airport.
