Although the rooms were clean, the corridors occasionally smelt of weed and as we are non-smokers it was not pleasant. I did think of using the pool but discovered it was quite small and not really one you can swim in. Plus, the water was cold.

Lovely spacious rooms, with kitchenette. Large comfortable beds assured we all got a good nights sleep. There was fair selection of food for breakfast. The spa was a bonus on the trip and the massages were just what was needed to ease the tensions of a long day! We found the staff happy, friendly and ready to help. Thank you for a great stay!

We spent more time outside the hotel and it would be unfair and presumptuous of me to be commenting beyond the things I liked.

The main reason for booking Onyx was based on our previous experience at Onyx and proximity to our primary reason for being in Cape Town. viz., CTIJF 2024.

The locations is great! 15 min walk to all the needed places such as V&A mall, Bo-kapp area, table mountain and lions head. We booked a family suite so we had the place to have dinner together in the room with a spacious kitchen and table area. The staff is great and very friendly. Food is yummy and there is a Asian restaurant called YU that is amazing! The hotel gave also parking for free. That was very convenient.

Farther from waterfront than I would have preferred. Bathroom was ridiculously small, especially compared to size of entire room. No room to move at all. Side step to the right for shower, left for toilet and that was it.

The hotel was perfectly located between the waterfront (15mins by foot) and the city center (10 mins walk). Everything else is easy reach by a 10 min Uber or taxi drive. The breakfast was great, plentiful and the coffee and food were really tasty! we could also have an early breakfast at 6:30 AM before a day trip which was handy. We could also have a late breakfast after a sunrise hiking trek which was perfect! The pool is also nice for a dip after a long day. For business travelers, it is right next to the convention center. I would definitly recommend

The room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and had great temperature control. I thought having a kitchenette was really nice. I was pretty jetlagged so I was never hungry at mealtimes but very hungry in the middle of the night so it was convenient to be able to make myself a snack whenever I wanted to. The bed was big and comfortable, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the hotel was very close to the convention center. Really could not have asked for a better place to stay during this conference.
