The amount of stairs I had to hike to get to my room? Treacherous. Shower water was always warm, never truly hot.

Breakfast options are so limited and restricted on what is available. For the price I could have had a better breakfast elsewhere. For example, they didn’t offer sweet stuff like muffins or savoury treats. Only breads was provided. The rooms are clean but could do with air fresheners especially for thatched rooms overlooking the river.

The hotel is very clean and not very busy. Has good facilities and located near shopping centres/ malls. View from our room was amazing.

It is super clean, comfortable bed with clean bedding! Everything about this place is top tier!! We loved it so much! The staff is incredible and they follow up on everything!!

I didnt like that my room has small ants passing through under my room door, and in the bathroom there was also a cockroach, but the bathroom was clean spotless though. So if they can make sure that outside the rooms by the door area, insecticide is sprayed often to kill the ants and any creepy crawlies like cockroaches that seep through below the door. Thats the only thing I didnt like.

Breakfast was great, there a choice of different kinds of breakfast meals. Location was perfect as its central to many amenities and nearby attractions like Elephant whispers, Skyway Trails to name a few, and a gateway to Kruger National Parks Phabeni which is also a 15min drive, and an hour and a half to Three Rondavels and anything in between the travel time becomes shorter. I will be returning back to Umbhabha Eco Lodge with a partner this time around. I will even stay longer.

Nothing to complain about, honestly

Everything! The architecture is amazing, full of personality. Summarises the spirit of Africa. It’s even more beautiful than in the pictures!! The personnel is fabulous, they do their best to welcome you and make you feel at home. Room is comfy, nice bed to lay down and watch some Netflix after a full day of safari. Food is nice, good selection of wines, nice breakfast. The safari guy they recommend is also really good!

1st night ala carte menu for dinner we ordered fish, the fish was dry and full of bones 🥹 And also not everything needs to be garnished with “paprika “ on the rim of the plate.

The hospitality and friendly staff✌🏿 The ambience Perfect location Buffet breakfast & Dinner were top tier 😁 compliments to the kitchen staff. Was happy to see my ex colleague Hildah 😅

OMW! What a refreshing place! Definitely coming back. Everything is just perfect. Very warm staff, everything is clean, the beds are comfortable, the room is nicely decorated and don't get me started on the food - delicious & generous portions!

The fact that we were given single bed duvets ,instead of a double bed duvet. and that completely ruined our stay at the lodge.

So for the first day we didn't enjoy the breakfast packs we received when we were going for the Safari because it didn't come with something to drink not even a juice . Second day the breakfast was very good, we really enjoyed it.

The property is well taken care of and clean. The staff members are friendly everyone is hands on including the managers and we met the amazing Chef named George, he was friendly and his food was delicious and the waiter named Nomfundo loved her, she is super friendly and accommodating! Also the bartender Siya, amazing and very helpful.
