How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Cold apartment. Was raining during our stay and water pools outside front door on tiles which was quite slippery.
Excellent location - walking distance to central restaurants, stores and cliff path. Located in small shopping mall with convenience stores in building. Secure parking.

That the apartment itself wasn’t fully equipped for loadshedding. However the staff was more than accommodating to store my meds in the fridge overnight
The the location of the property was an easy stroll to shops, restaurants and the beach. Louise at reception was really lovely and accommodating. The apartment was big with ample room and space for an adult family of four.

Views from balcony are nice, but you are overlooking a shopping centre car park!
Great sized suite, well-equiped, walking distance to everything, friendly staff, located in a shopping complex so easy access to groceries.

Breakfast is not special. If we had stayed longer we would have opted for self-catering, especially as there is a great super-market just underneath the apartments. And , of course, it lacks a swimming pool.
Super nice and modern apartment with lots of room on 2 levels (3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms on top floor, living room, kitchen and dining room on lower floor). The location is also great as it takes only 5 minutes to get to the center of Hermanus with all the restaurants and galleries, while you have one of the best supermarket we have come across in the same building. Great for families.

The couches are for small people not larger sized people. Very uncomfortable. We didn’t eat breakfast as the area has a better variety for the same price. Rather exclude breakfast here. The location is above a shopping mall. Very very noisy in the morning and you can’t lie in or rest. No Dstv.
Convenience of a mall below. Marius is super friendly and welcoming. Excellent manners. Location is close to all restaurants and the marina.

It is close to the waterfront and restaurants. The suites are on top of a shopping mall. Checkers is one of the shops in the mall. I could find all the groceries I needed, there.

Whilst the wheelchair accessibility was good the room itself could have been better designed and laid out.....my wife will write separately with some constructive advice.....
The friendliness and willing to assist of all staff was excellent. Amen and Dawie went above and beyond. The location was perfect for our needs The fact that the lifts worked during loadshedding was a bonus as our daughter is in a wheelchair.

I always find showers in hotels could have better cleaning in the corners to get them 100% hygienic

Air conditioning in the second bedroom !
Great decor . Good outside space and domestic facilities . Nice being near Checkers as we wanted to eat in as we had been eating out a lot . Great shower and cosmeticsx.
