“Excellent location for visiting a lot of the local highlights. Schlenkerla brewery is only a couple of minutes walk away (as is the Old Town Hall, the Cathedral and all the interesting shops and sights in the old town). We walked everywhere and enjoyed every moment of it. Call ahead or advise the owner of your arrival time before you get to the accommodation so you can be let in and shown around. The general surroundings seem quite old and run down but the inside of Ferienwohnung am Griesgarten was incredibly modern and clean. Our room was perfect for us with a large bed, small kitchen and fridge (kitchen had coffee machine, sink and kettle but no cooking area), and a comfortably sized bathroom (we stayed in the ground floor room). There are some of Bamberg's specialty beers available to buy quite cheaply in the lobby, which you can cool in your fridge. This a was great touch to come home to after a long day exploring. Our host was very accommodating and pleasant to deal with. We only saw her briefly as she let us in and showed us around, as we paid up front and were left to do our own thing.”
