“The location and area was somewhat quiet, 1 min walk to the beachfront. The entire hostel was made of bamboo which is really nice, and general areas were kept clean all the time. The best feature was the food, all superfoods ranging from smoothies, breakfast (inclusive), salads, desserts. It was super value for money to be able to enjoy the buckwheat pancakes, apple pie oats or vegan omelette for breakfast! The cafe area is good for sitting and chilling with a book or magazine, they play mellow music too. Or you can lay around the pool or on a bamboo chair. The owners Bel and Resa are great and helpful, so are the staff. The hostel just opened in Apr 2016 so there are some work-in-progress stuffs around but doesn't affect your stay.”

“I had an absolute wonderful stay at Segar Village, and ended up staying for 7 nights. The location is perfect, close enough for bars and restaurants and yet far enough away from the action to have some real peace and quiet with the sounds of the ocean in the background. I loved the view from my terrace overlooking a field/garden with the cows grazing and the odd giant (harmless) lizard walking by. The cottages are very charming and the outdoor bathroom is so nice I felt like having showers all the time - even though there's no hot water. The staff are all really nice and always available with a big smile. If you want your room cleaned they are happy to do so. Just leave your key with them when you go out in the morning. Segar Villages is not luxury, but it is excellent value for money, and I would definitely come back again. Loved it!”

“This is the first time I actually stayed at the bungalows at blue marine after diving with them a couple times before. The bungalows are right behind the dive center at the more quiet part of the island. Great location! The bungalows are absolutely beautiful and nicely decorated. The best bed ever! Perfect pillows. Slept so well! Lovely bathroom with hot water, great fluffy towels and a very nice balcony overlooking a beautiful garden with frangipani trees with the flowers that smell so nice. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The manager and the owner are both very friendly and helpful as well. Everything was immaculate. Breakfast is right at the beach and has a wide range of choices. The smoothies are delicious and I really love their muesli fruit yoghurt and the green scramble and the toast avocado. They are my favorites. And great cappuccino! At the dive center you can do all kinds of water sports (diving, freediving, SUP) and yoga classes. All well organized and very professional. I will definitely come back here.”

I came down with a flu while on the island and the staff was incredibly helpful, friendly, and full of advise for food and resources. I wanted to see a doctor and one of the staff members walked me to the doctor and waited with me! Incredibly nice people! It is very hot in Gili and the A/C worked amazingly. I was there with my sister and it is definitely a romantic honeymoon style with a queen bed for us to share, but the bed was super comfy. There is an outdoor bathroom, which in theory sounds not so luxurious but it was recently done and super snazzy with great water pressure. Also the hotel is just around the corner from the main strip where all the music and commotion is which is nice to be right there but have a little space. Also they play movies outside every night and nice lounge seats on the beach. I pretty much just ate soup and fruit/fresh fruit juice while I was there--so I can't comment much on the restaurant, but what I had was great!”

The shower was good. There was a small deck with two large wooden chairs and a table. The pool was right out front of the door and it was a beautiful, refreshing long pool that was kept clean daily. The restaurant area was just in front of the water, although no beach, it was a beautiful place to enjoy quiet reading, writing, relaxing. Two person bungalows were scattered throughout the restaurant area giving a large space to get comfortable and have some privacy. The staff were very friendly and outgoing. The manager was very attentive and took care of anything we asked.”

“Most probably this was our best accommodation during our 2.5 weeks stay in Indonesia. We loved this place, especially the open bathroom, which is quite an amazing feeling when you can shower under a palm tree. The room was quite big, clean, the balcony is cosy and it even had a hammock. The breakfast is more than in other places I think, you can choose between pancakes, omlettes, sandwitches, and fruits are served as well. There is a small shop and bookstore next to it, they rent snorkeling equipment, and they run a restaurant/coffee. Other restaurants and beach is 5 min walk from the place. Wish we could stay more here.”

The owners are really fantastic and the breakfast is THE BEST. Literally. The best breakfast on all 3 of my island stays that nothing can compare to. Incredibly well presented fruit platter with salami sandwich and delicious yogurt. The rooms are really nice too, big spacious beds with well placed power sockets and towel art. The bathroom is open air which gives you a really spectacular view of the stars, the water is cool and salty which is normal in the Gilis but the facilities are great. Nice place to be in and the owners are really friendly, stopping by often for a chat and to share more about how they came to settle here and how they manage the restaurant. Fantastic stay all around, loved so much of it and the location is great!”

“This was probably the best hotel we ever had in Asia and we have traveled quite a lot already. The hotel only has 6 rooms, 3 normal ones, and 3 villas. We stayed in one of the villas with a private pool. The villa has everything you can ask for, perfect bed, AC, fans, outdoor bathroom, outdoor seating (multiple options) and of course the private pool which is well sized and simply perfect. On top the service is amazing. Gedi and the other guys do everything to make you feel comfortable. Breakfast is served in the villa, you can order from a quite big menu as much as you want. Really tasty! They make you free coffee all day round, help you with planning your activities, rent out bikes and do laundry. They organized a snorkeling trip for us as well. Distance to the beach probably 5 Minutes, 2 by bike. Lots of good restaurants around. But still not busy and inside the villa, you really do have your privacy. All in all, I can only highly recommend going there!”

They opened the villa's only 2 weeks ago, therefore everything is brand new and in a perfect condition. The villa's are located at the center north of Gili Air, but there are bikes from the villa you can use to explore the Island, free of charge. They have a small menu as well and the dishes the serve are delicious. We had a cooking class organised by Angga and chef Jack at our own villa, because we said couple of times how much we enjoyed there food. We now know how to make Nasi Goreng and red and yellow curry, great!! We extended our stay with a couple of days, because we had a wonderful time at Sanctuary Villa's. We would love to come back, I think we will.”

The resort is right next to the beach so if you decide to go snorkeling you simply need to walk out from your room in bikini and with snorkeling kit. There is an amazing pool at the property too - for those who got tired from salty water. The staff is amazing over all - they are an international crew and all of them are super friendly and helpful. They took care of us all the time and helped us with any question or wish we had. We felt like being among friends although we stayed only for few nights. Great place to stay - hope we'll be back!”

The budget one is great for one or two nights, because is a bit small and has no a/c. The bigger one was great with loads of room and good a/c. Very comfy! Both Bungalow were very clean. Breakfast good. I recommend the banana pancake. We did the laundry there and they have a good price. Clothes were delivered very fast and clean. We also rented bike there. “It's located near the harbor, about 3 minutes by walk, so you don't need to pay for the horse ride. And you will find the "Peanut Homestay >" marks all the way to the stay. The main guy who was always here to help is like the most nicest person on earth. He (and all other crew) will do everything to make your stay perfect. They also arranged us a snorkeling trip and booked the way back to bali for a great price. The accommodation itself is nice, clean and pretty big (mostly the bathroom). It's all new, the AC, good bed, nice toilet and truly working hot water - it even wasn't salty! Even through it is close to the harbor, it's private and you will sleep well in night. For this price, I cannot imagine better accommodation. Oh and I would forgot about the breakfast! You can choose from like 8 things from a menu, scramble eggs in toast, omelet, many types of pancakes (the chocolate ones are a must-try!)... Plus tea or coffee and a plate full of fruits. I'll add some photo of that. For breakfast like this for 2 you'll pay at least 100k in local restaurants. Thanks a lot to whole Peanut's team, for making our Gili trip so great!”

They provided us with our snorkels for the duration of the trip and breakfast was amazing! The Santay restaurant had the best Gadu-Gadu I've tried since being in Indonesia. And the Urap-Urap was amazing too. “We had a very bad journey to Gili air and I was not in a very good mood when I arrived. Dole and his wife where so welcoming that I instantly felt relaxed. The room is exactly as described, it is very hot on the Gillis and going back was always nice and cool. There is a little porch to sit outside which is always sheltered from the sun, nice to enjoy a morning coffee or an evening drink. Breakfast is very very yummy! “When we booked the homestay we immediately got a message from Anto when we arrive so he can pick us up. When we arrived at the harbour he was already waiting for us and got us to the house. It's a newly built house in a silent and relaxed location. He organized snorkeling equipment and bikes for us and showed us how to get to the beach.
