“An absolutely fabulous idyll, came highly recommended and didn't disappoint, we stayed here for 2 nights during a 12 night South African Tour and wish we had stayed longer. You can spend all day just on site at the farm, the spa, the food, the wine tasting room, the guided walks, the open countryside and land are just spectacular. I thought I'd died and gone to foodie heaven, this is easily the best hotel experience I have ever had- just wonderful. A little rap on our door after arrival, and we had a box of fresh oranges from the farm delivered, followed by a bunch of fresh garden herbs for the freestanding bath tub, followed by someone offering us a glass of red wine and nibbles- even though we had a fully stocked fridge with complimentary wine. Our room (farmhouse suite) was in it's own steading with a wet room suite- jacuzzi, steam/sauna, rain shower and a salt room everything was divine. Bonus that as a guest you have automatic right to dine in the restaurant and skip the very long wait list for dinner! The breakfast was just like nothing I've ever seen, all produced from the farm I had to have something of everything. We were in the cheapest farmhouse suite - nothing cheap about it, our bathroom was enormous, the bed was like the princess and the pea, the design was gorgeous. The owner is ex-Elle Decor Editor in SA and it shows. You won't need to or want to eat elsewhere, if you can possibly eat any more after the breakfast then I recommend the sharing platters in the wine room- beware they are huge! Leave room for your dinner! The best bit is not feeling like you are in a 'hotel', having a free run of the farm and large stunning grounds which have many marked trails. I want to live there! P.S I am a real fusspot so when I write a review like this you can take it as a true recommendation.”
