The small village of Par sits on the South Cornwall coast, approximately 3 miles from the ancient town of St Austell with its array of shops, restaurants, cafes and the iconic attraction, The Eden Project. Nearby Charlestown, famous for being the setting of many films and TV series over the years, including Poldark, is the home of a fleet of impressive Tall Ships, with excellent Shipwreck Museum and selection of both trendy eateries and traditional pubs. The village railway station is just over a mile away and connects you to Penzance or Plymouth, with some of the best countryside and coastline in between! The village today still has a flourishing china-clay industry and its own beach, Par Sands, a broad expanse of sand with sand dunes which at low tide exposes rugged inlets. The revered South Coast Path runs along the cliff top here too. Visit Looe, the beautiful harbour town with narrow streets and busy quayside or Polperro, where time stands still and pretty little cottages lead down to the sea, once a town infamous for smuggling and wrecking.
