Company information

Lorraine and Kevin welcome you to The Rutlands. We are currently in the process of refurbishing the stairwell and exposing the original Victorian (1870s) staircase. Our first point of call will be to seek a woodturner to replicate the Victorian spindles. Near the front door is a photo of the property from the 1930's - you can see the services that were being offered at that time. At the time the property was being run by a Mrs Fawkes and she can be found on the 1939 Register, which was created when WWII was announced in order to distribute ration books.

Property information

Welcome to The Rutlands where you will always find a warm welcome at our family run B&B. All our rooms are en-suite and have free tea and coffee making facilities, TV and WIFI. Our rooms are on tiered 1st and 2nd floors. We do not have ground floor rooms or any facilities to store mobility scooters. Our rooms can be booked including breakfast on Saturday, Sunday and Monday's only with breakfast being served at 9am. We no longer offer breakfast on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. Any bookings made for these days will be room only and the price has been adjusted accordingly. There are a few midweek bookings than can be made including breakfast - this is due to bookings already being made prior to the decision to provide room only on those days. All bookings made prior to 1/3/2024 that include breakfast will be honoured in full. Room servicing during your stay at The Rutlands will no longer be undertaken due to staffing shortages. We are situated within 5 minutes walking distance of car parking, public transport, town centre, the Tower, the Promenade and Central Pier and other tourist attractions.

Neighbourhood information

We are located on Hornby Road which is very central and a designated holiday area. It is a 5 minute walk to the seafront, town centre, the Tower, Central Pier, Coral Island, other attractions and to local shops, trams and buses. A longer stroll up the seafront you will get you to Sandcastles Water Park, the Pleasure Beach and South and North Piers. If you would like a day away from the seafront, maybe visit Blackpool Zoo, the Model Village and Stanley Park with its Italian Gardens, boating lake, cafeteria and where where you can buy food to feed the ducks and watch the squirrels. If you are in the mood for a day away from the local attractions, Blackpool is a train or car ride away from Preston, Lancaster, Morecambe, Manchester, Liverpool and Southport. If you prefer the wide open spaces of the countryside, maybe visit the Lake District, Forest of Bowland, Bowland Wild Boar Park, Brock Bottom, Beacon Fell Country Park and Brockholes to name but a few.
