A small, new and clean hotel with perfect location. The owners are very nice and helped with what we needed. A wonderful view and great breakfast. Would be happy to stay there again.

Perfect location directly at the Shinkyō Bridge, in front of the entry to the shrines and temples of Nikko and a few walking minutes away from the train station. The hosts were extremely helpful and nice. We enjoyed the river view and breakfast very much. Absolutely worth to recommend

Mark and team are excellent hosts in a brand new property right on the river, with spacious rooms tastefully decorated with high quality furnishings. The intimate setting not only welcomes visitors, but is also a hub for the local community which gives a richer experience to the traveler. Just visit!

The Inn was just perfect!!. The room was spacious , comfortable and very clean. We had an international breakfast which was very good . the location is great - just next to the Shrines, and last but not least- the hosts were so friendly and helpfull. Mark - the owner is an englishman who moved to Japan many years ago, and he speaks both English and Japanese. He was so nice and helpfull. Gave us maps, directions and good advices. Mark make some tel. calls phone for us. We had a realy homely feeling. I highly recommend Shinjuku inn, and definetly i'll stay there again when I'm in Nikko.

The host was fantastic, very considerate and it felt like a personal stay while still having all of the privacy and security you’d want for a room. They were very knowledgeable about the area and provided great suggestions for both attractions and food. Below is a bar run by them where we went to order later night food (9pm), all of which was delicious. Breakfast was great, it was very filling and had a lot of variety. The location was very convenient for exploring the town and going to attractions. It was very easy to get into as well. The view from the room is unbeatable, it looks right over the river and there are plenty of windows to take advantage of it.

A very nice B&B near the main cultural heritage sights of Nikko. We could even see the Shinkyo Bridge from our room! Mark and his wife are very nice, helpful, and personable. Since we got to Nikko late in the day, they made us a delicious dinner, taking note of our dietary concerns. And breakfast the next day was also excellent. While we found that the lighting in our room could have been somewhat stronger to allow us to read in bed, the bathroom was enormous and included both a shower and a most tempting tub. I could think of no better place to stay! It is truly idyllic.

I had a great time at the Shinkyo Inn. It is a great launching point for visiting the World Heritage Site of the temples and shrines. The hosts are lovely and the food was delicious. The room is large and clean and I loved the view from the bathtub of the river. Definitely stay here if you are heading to Nikko!

Everything about Shinkyo Inn is beautiful, the location, the room and the view. We had dinner in the café and couldn’t stop ourselves from ordering the dessert twice. The view of the snow and the river gives you a sense of tranquility and coziness. Thank you Mark for making our stay lovely and always remembered
