We are looking forward to welcoming you to our beautiful setting. Please let us know if you are looking to do any activities in the area as Dawid is a professional tour operator and guide and will love to make your visit even more sepcial with a tour of the area. Think a guided visit to the Valley of Desolation, an evening with a traditional meal under the stars, a bicycle ride through town of out into the Camdeboo National Park, a guided walk through Graaff-Reinet and Umasizakhe, a visit to one of our neighbouring towns or a Big 5 game drive in a game reserve in the surrounding area.
Toerboer Cottage is one of the oldest buildings in Graaff-Reinet and the last example of a house with an adjoining Tradesman Shop. We love to share the history of not only the Toerboer Cottage, but also the town and the surrounding area. We are both passionate travellers and therefore will look after your needs with a soft touch.
Toerboer Cottages are centrally located in Graaff-Reinet. From our veranda we can see the clocktower of the big NG Church in the middle of town. You can also set your watch by it. It is a lovely neighbourhood to walk around in taking into consideration the plethora of old houses, museums and monuments within short walking distance. Of course the very best of Karoo cuisine is also within smelling distance.
