The extensively-refurbished Bridge House Hotel is set in Grasmere, directly across from St Oswalds Church and the graveyard where William Wordsworth rests. Brilliant location. Our room was right on the river so we went to sleep to the sound of the river flowing, it was stunning! There were a lot of walks around the area to do and the breakfast at the hotel was delicious. There was also a great pub down and the road and some other restaurants and grocery shops. All you need. The room was beautiful and clean and very spacious! Highly reccomend.

Excellent staff, very attentive, great interactions with our four year old boy. Room was stunningly beautiful, bathroom had a wonderful mirror in front of the bathroom that turns into a telly. Afternoon tea was very nice, Scones are very tasty.

Amazing views, staff, food and the hot tub outside was a real treat. Nothing was too much and as someone who was really worried about being fussy and having a tasting meal - Rebecca totally put me at ease and made me feel as if nothing was too much trouble.

Just a mile from Lake Windermere in the heart of the Lake District, this luxury boutique hotel offers home-cooked food and free Wi-Fi. Overall, everything was perfect. The room was large enough, the supplies were sufficient, and the service staff were very kind and tried their best to meet all our needs during our stay. I have to mention Charlie, he is seriously the funniest person I have ever met in the UK. The hot tub should be the biggest feature of this hotel. My wife and I enjoyed it for three whole days and were very satisfied. The price/performance ratio is very good. The hotel is located in the middle of the two towns of Bowness and Windermere, and it is very convenient to walk to both towns. In any case, I will definitely recommend this hotel next time I come to the Lake District, or if my friends want to travel to the Lake District.

We went for the annual Westmorland Show but the hotel is very handy for Kendal, The Lakes, Westmorland Fells, and Yorkshire Dales. Also near the M6 but a good mile away--certainly no noise. Our twin room was excellent. The fraternal owners are working very hard indeed.

We loved our stay here! What a beautiful part of the world. Amazing building, great rooms and service from the staff. It is right on the lake which is beautiful, and close to the departure for the steam boat. I wish we could have stayed longer.

This was such a perfect hotel to stay in. The lovely little balcony with a view of the stream. The room was spacious, the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast provided was excellent. It was also very easy to visit nearby towns and access to local walks.
