How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

This time we did not have a very nice experience with a young lady working at reception when we arrived She insisted that we pay for the whole stay in advance before we entered our room. Something like that never happened to me anywhere in Europe. As an explanation she said that it makes things easier on check out ?!? Also she didn't give us any explanation about the hotel or surroundings as she did to others who checked in just before us. I really didn't feel we were welcome there and felt kind of discriminated. It's a shame that such a good hotel tolerates this behaviour. All other employees at the reception and other stuff were more than kind.
This was the second time I stayed in this hotel in a few years. Excellent location, clean and quiet. I really thought of this hotel as "my place" in Vienna but one thing spoiled the whole impression and I'm not sure I would come there again despite all its qualities. Otherwise I would rate it with 10.

Our stay at this hotel was excellent as every time we come to Vienna. The hotel is located in a very good location near the Mariahilfestrasse, on a quiet street, the rooms are large and modern equipped, the tasty breakfast and the friendliness of the staff make it a very good choice.

The air-conditioning was set to cool while it was very cold outside.
Nadia accepted us at check in and was available throughout our stay. She is wonderful. Made us feel welcome and helped us with whatever we needed. The hotel was very clean and pleasant. We received a crib and the room was large and comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful. The best thing about our trip was the hotel for sure 😃

Rooms could get stuffy and warm in the evening.
Nadia on reception was lovely and very helpful. The hotel room is very spacious and was immaculately clean, also with toiletries and coffee/tea included in the room. Location is 5 minute walk from Zeiglergasse U-Bhan Station where you can get into the city centre in 10 minutes. Local supermarket just 2 minute walk from the hotel also. We had a wonderful time staying here.

Breakfast room was a bit dull and soulless.
Very pleasant, quiet room. Excellent location close to the subway and lots of shops. Reception staff were very helpful and friendly.

Austria trend is a simple 4 star hotel at Vienna scale that is why with this price should not expect any surprising facilities.
location, price and staff were perfect. It is close to Mariahilfer street as the most famous shopping street in Vienna as well as metro station within 3 mins by walk.

The shower was in the bathtub. Could be a problem for people with mobility issues.
Excellent location, many restaurants nearby and very close to underground, bus and tram station. Very good breakfast.

Afternoon reception was exceptionally cordial and professional. The rooms were very comfortable, impeccably clean, and equipped with all necessities. Additionally, the breakfast was delightful. The option for checkout until 12:00 provides added convenience. I highly recommend this hotel.

The heating was not working ( end of March), but overall it wasn't very cold.
Great location. Very close to the metro station Line U3 and Mariahilferstrasse (3 minutes). Billa 1 minute on the other side of the road.

We arrived 4 hours early. The girl at the reception gave us our room and we checked in with great pleasure, it was very pleasant as we were very tired. Excellent location, clean, comfortable room, we liked everything. I recommend it.
