The only downside (and only an issue on the first and last day with the luggage) is the lack of lifts but it was perfectly fine the rest of the stay (for me at least as I'm healthy so no issues going up and down the stairs). A sauna would have been a great addition but defo not a deal-breaker

The breakfast was varied and copious. Loads of cold meats and cheeses as well as celeals, muesli, yoghurts and different breads, You could also order scrambled or soft-boiled eggs. The place was really clean and convenient. 30-second walk to the Penken lift and a few minutes walk to the Ahorn lift. Next to the supermarket and many bars and restaurants. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming which is a running theme in Mayrhofen.

I rated this place 10/10 because I really think it's a great one and the staff members are really kind and helpful, despite the only one unpleasant experience during checkout. We've been told that taking food outside the breakfast time is like stealing from the supermarket. To be honest, we're talking about a pre-made, already sealed croissant. There was a box in the breakfast room of sealed packages of different foods like croissants, which definitely looked like this is their purpose - using them as in "to go". It's also a common practice in many hotels around the world. Of course it's absolutely the property's right not to allow this, but I recommend to put a little sign next to this box, stating and asking not to take food out. I'm sure everyone will respect that, knowing it's not allowed, and also it will prevent this inconvenience and the bad feeling. I also noticed many other comments saying exactly the same, so I'm not the only one.

Everything was great: the location, the breakfast, the hosts, the room! It was a fantastic stay and very near the ski lift. There's a SPAR right next to it. I have no complaints. It's great value for money and I would definitely stay here again.

Breakfast wasn't bad, but I've had better, cakes didnt seem too fresh, breads werent bad but not the best i've had and the jam spreads were all jelly-like No real orientation to the place (perhaps limited by English) There is a sign saying, if you dont hang the sign on your door handle, then there is no room servicing, but my room got serviced anyway but didnt matter too much anyway. I didnt feel like this met the 9.0 rating, but perhaps it really shines in winter

I really enjoyed my stay. The hostess is friendly, the house and the rooms are clean, the breakfast just perfekt for me. The location is great: cable cars, grocery store, bike rental are very close. Still it is peaceful.

The bathroom was dated with a tub and shower curtain that was alittle tight for this fluffy guy and the ground floor was 12 steps up, we were offered help with our luggage. No other hotel had done that.They were in the midst of updating their heating system so i,'m sure bathrooms would be on that list

Great proximity to all the places and excursions we wanted to see. Breakfast was great. the owner and staff were great, making us feel right at home. We knew this was going to be our best stay with a shot of schnapps after we registered. Das Monika will always be remembered as one of the great memories of Austria and will be a destination when we return.

The property is in the heart of Mayrhofen town and such a lovely place to stay. the balcony room for a single person is spacious enough for solo travellers and one of the best hotels that I have stayed. such a welcoming host.
