Exceptional food (breakfast & dinner), very friendly and kind staff. The wellness area is really good, it's nice to look at the slopes while chilling in the heated outside pool. Every part of the hotel is kept clean. We liked that the hotel is not that small but still has a family-owned vibe and friendly atmosphere.

An absolute perfection of a hotel!!! Family run with so much love and pride! No idea where to begin… our room, or more to say: an apartment, was beautifully positioned overlooking the Dorfgastein valley. It was so comfortable in every way. We spent Christmas here and it was magical! The hotel organised a celebration with singing carols and champagne on Christmas Eve. Gifts too! Felt like being part of the family. We met so many people at the party, many of them come visit every year. Spa area was exquisite!!! I can talk about it until tomorrow, it was a dream! Thank you for such an amazing stay, can’t wait to be back♥️

You are extremely steeply far up from town and the train station, so I'd recommend driving by car or using your established rideshare app. The taxi drivers will charge you $20-$30 for a ten-minute ride in Dorfgastein and Bad Hofgastein if you speak German with an American accent. Of course this is not the hotel's fault, and they drove me back down for free, but be warned if you are an American driving by train. In winter with luggage in the dark, forget walking up that mountain car-road.

Exceptionally beautiful and convincing Almisch decor and atmosphere, including in the rooms. A hotel room/bath could hardly be cleaner. Austrian hotels are far superior for quality and value than in the Midwest USA. Exceptional breakfast buffet, easy cashless ordering- the staff just remembers your orders and prints a receipt at your reserved seating place in the the multi-open-roomed bar/restaurant area. Lunch and dinner also include a main course with buffet but you must purchase those. Breakfast is included with the room. Plenty of little courtesies and gifts really make you feel welcome and spoiled. Stunning mountain and valley views. Share this with someone special. I was the only one person there who came alone. About half the people were there to ski. From the excellent sauna/spa with heated (but not hot) outdoor pool, you could watch people ski all day out of the giant windows. I can imagine this place would be amazing in the summer for a non skiier like me. However, the luxury and comfort (Gemütlichkeit) of the alps and this specific establishment allowed me to "forget the time" as one other review said. I found it to be a perfect, sincere, mix of rustic and modern. I couldn't imagine how spending any more on a hotel could truly get you better. This place has everything you need in high quality, and still has a little more. Not too crowded, but lively enough for a full family-friendly, yet classy-party atmosphere. For example, you could drink, or not, and feel a part of things. Spa had just enough people to feel social, but you weren't always looking at swarms of other people like in the rock baths of this area. In fact it was usually 0-2 people in the pool or sauna with you. I believe I read however that the tap water in this spa contains most of the same mineral benefits of the rock spring. Visiting Alpentherme in the next town by train was still indeed doable after checkout.

Adjacent (5 ft. from my windows and door) rooms with people smoking on their decks and smoke coming into my room - Not the mountain fresh air I was expecting during warm summer nights. The shower went from warm to unexpected freezing cold. Restaurant food was mediocre.

Very clean. Great view. Comfortable bed. Beautiful woodworking throughout. Very nice staff.
