How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The tv was outdated and had a ‘smart tv’ feature that kept bringing up logos all the time. It wasn’t easy to cast and regular tv quality was subpar. Free slippers were stained and therefore made us not want to use the robes. Would have been nice if there were better coffee options.
The closeness to the main part of Melbourne CBD, plenty of food options so close by and clean towels and bed made everyday. Free wifi was also excellent.

Bigger coffee cups in room. Extra blanket is needed as was cold in bed. Could be honest about no veiw

Silly little things. Water bottles not replenished on one day Tea not replenished and only 2 of each item.
Great location for the money. Clean and comfortable.

It's perfectly comfortable for what we needed, my only complaint it the toilet continuously made running water sounds.
Staff were friendly and the whole checking in and out process was very simple. Great location with parking close by.

No view from the window. But it’s fine. :)
It was good. The room is clean. Beds are comfortable. Staffs are accommodating and polite. Great location with many restaurants nearby. Value for money.

The room is a bit small. The buttons of the elevator do not work very well.
Location of the hotel is convenient to go for food and coffee and easy to access the free tram in CBD area. The room is comfortable with enough lighting. The bed is clean and the staff is nice and friendly.

The shower in the bath was a bit daunting for our short and older legs.
Excellent central location for the purpose of our visit which was to visit exhibitions and take in a show. Lovely friendly staff and comfy beds.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, easy to access and perfect for my work trip purpose. Rooms are very comfortable, well appointed and bathroom is very clean. Reception staff are incredibly friendly, very helpful and nothing is too difficult to organise. The hotel is amazing value for money - Have stayed many times, and will stay again.

It was not easy to see how to operate the TV and I had to obtain advice from the staff - who were helpful. Clear instructions are needed.
Good central location. Quiet and comfortable rooms. Friendly and efficient staff. Cafe Blahnik nearby offered an excellent breakfast.

No vent in bathroom so mirror steamed up. When this happened we both noticed writing on the shower screen. So for that we did question how well it might have been cleaned

Their system seems a little outdated. IE, we asked the reception staff if we could check out 30 mins late and they said no problem. When we went to check out, the elevator wouldn't recognise our key, so the receptionist let us up with his. When we got to our room it wouldn't let us in so we had to go downstairs again to reception. He said this happens all the time with people who have requested a late check out. If this is a common thing, why did he let us up in the lift, knowing the key wouldn't work in our room door??.
The room was excellent, large, clean and comfortable. The room was ready and available at 10am when we arrived. Much appreciated! we also got a checkout 30 mins after normal so that was great. Location was perfect.
